What Republicans Will Look Like
10 Years From Now

Republicans are a dying breed and if you recall, in my last article of the prior meanings of the terms Republican or Democrat in the United States, you see why. A party that holds tight to racism, sexism, and lack of reproductive rights does not last long in the modern world. Any conservatism all over the planet does not last long. Nor does an obsessively liberal attitude. There will be a time when we move beyond political parties as a deciding factor in which way we vote, and the eventuality is that we will change our ways to vote based on character, track record, and gut feeling, not party lines.
Both political parties, indeed, all parties, need to change with the times. The current climate is not conducive to a different system. Change is an inevitable part of life on this planet, because change can happen swiftly as we have seen with the police reform movement on account of the George Floyd incident with a white police officer. Republicans and Democrats alike can both be racist. They are the sorts of people who do get away with saying things as Joe Biden did recently with some videos surfacing of him being rude.
The voting choices we have this year, leave many uncomfortable but knowing Biden is an improvement over the stress of the last four years have had on the country not to mention that the current President leaves the rest of the world disliking us. Neither party is getting along right now, only because they are digging their heels in over the definition of what Democrat or Republican values mean. Our choices are pretty much not so great, but Kanye West makes things more interesting. Then again what are his chances?
People are locked in the opposing parties dichotomy, you are either Democrat or Republican, nothing in between. Some people are freeing themselves though and calling themselves independent. The thing is, we need to move past the two-party system as a species. Why are we stuck in it, you may ask? We need structure, Republicans give each other structure. Democrats did not make a good call wearing kente cloth if that offended some people just because some of them are white with white privilege. The Democrat is a good guy, they thought but in the past as covered in a previous article, they were pro-slavery. I'm trying not to stay trapped into thinking Blue is a symbol of a good guy.
The elephant is a bad guy- Republican while the Democrat is a donkey, the good guy. We have got to stop thinking in black and white as a species. The truth is that life is but shades of grey. The human race has to coach itself out of this trap. Those who are independent imagine they have no political party but lean one way or the other from liberal to conservative and conservative to liberal. What happens with this, can be confusing for foreigners who try to figure out the American political systems.
The American political system needs to be changed to something better and we need to consider ourselves lucky that someone is merely rattling his saber against the public saying he could seek a third term. The 22nd Amendment prevents this from happening. It is Constitutional law that cannot be overturned, which makes seeking a third term impossible. The thing is, we have immense changes to make to our system. Defunding the police is but one way of changing the way things are.
What we have to do is to talk to people different from us. Get to know them, trust them, build friendships, and get past our differences. This is something not everybody knows how to do. I have arch-Republican friends, we never discuss this stuff with. Granted, some are going to see the truth soon, becoming instantly floored "I believed him?" Narcissists are eventually defeated. The narcissist is going to eventually crack up when their victims leave them. Hopefully 10 years from now, fascism will wear itself out. Hopefully, people can put aside their differences and just be people. White supremacist groups are labeled as terrorists now. But anyway, we don't know what will happen.
