I find myself listening to others regarding the results of this year’s election, and the hottest issue is what is Joe going to do in his first 100 days. Many have gone to his page and check out his plan and they just do not like it. Others are only glad Trump will be removed.
In Presidents Biden's victory speech, he said with no hesitation:
"I am proud of the coalition we put together, the broadest and most diverse in history, Democrats, Republicans and Independents, Progressives, moderates and conservatives, young and old, urban, suburban and rural, Gay, straight, transgender, White. Latino. Asian. Native American, and especially for those moments when this campaign was at its lowest — the African American community stood up again for me. They always have my back, and I’ll have yours" (Joe Biden, 2020).
When discussing the outcome of this election it seems the masses are really happy with the results, looking at his first 100 days definitely covers us all as whole, but speaking with several Blacks what I am hearing is if their vote was what made this happen why are they not listed specifically on the President’s To Do list.
Biden has listed the Mexico border issue, the LGBTQ, Climate control, Emission issue, Police reform, incarceration issues, why not Black people? They feel that they should have been listed above at least a few of those issues. He said, “Blacks have always had my back, and I promise to have theirs”, but he does not have them listed in his first 100 days.
I do remember during his campaign he planned for Black people, he called it:
The Biden Plan for Black America, he said “I Will”:
1. Advance the economic mobility of African Americans and close the racial wealth and income gaps.
2. Expand access to high-quality education and tackle racial inequity in our education system.
3. Make far-reaching investments in ending health disparities by race.
4. Strengthen America’s commitment to justice.
5. Make the right to vote and the right to equal protection real for African Americans.
6. Address environmental justice.
But they are not included in his first 100 days, should they be mad, should they feel left out? I do not know, but what I do know is our President does not really have the power that many expect. As children we had a learning tool called Schoolhouse rock, and there were several American lessons that we could learn. The one that comes to mind went a little something like this:
Boy: You mean even if the whole Congress says you should be a law, the president can still say no?
Bill: Yes, that is called a veto. If the President vetoes me, I must go back to Congress, and they vote on me again.
Sounds like he has power, right? Wrong because Congress may override a veto with a two-thirds vote of both houses. So even though he carries the title of the most powerful man he really is not.
The definition of Politician is a person who acts in a manipulative and devious way, typically to gain advancement within an organization. Sounds right? That is what they do, play with our emotions, play with our heads, and then pretend that they are running this country when they are not. To choose a political party is ridiculous, backing a whole bunch of manipulative people whose agenda has absolutely nothing to do with you is crazy or shall I say insane, remember doing the same thing, and looking for different results is insanity. Take my advice and try this, become Independent AKA a Non-Affiliate that would open a few eyes, and no one would ever be able to prejudge what or who is going to get that vote on election day again. That Polling would be a thing of the past.
The way to get this country to see the people; the people must decide to continue to show up and show out, become their own person. 45 is his own person love him or hate him, he does not dance by anyone’s music, right, wrong or indifferent. That is why he is hated by most. We are so used to being followers, allowing a group of people's ideas to become ours. A political party has so many different opinions in them, so why does it always seem as if they all think alike? Because if the powers that be say it is so....it is so.
Over 20 years ago I became an Independent, I do not see myself as a Conservative, Right-winged, Left-winged, Liberal, Democrat nor a Republican, if there is something on the ballot that I like I vote for it regardless who put it out there no one knows what I am thinking until I mark that box.
So #46, yes we voted you in, really we do not believe anything that you promised, but what we do know is that WE WILL BE WATCHING…..you have 1460 days to do something, and if you do not fulfill some of your promises we will once again show you just how powerful that Black vote is.
People please take back your power.....Make your own decisions, drop that connection to a political party and do not let your choice be counted before you decide what YOU want for YOU!
