A top election security official who was fired by President Donald Trump weeks after the 2020 election has confirmed that he spoke with the special counsel investigating Trump's efforts to overturn the election.

Chris Krebs, the former director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), confirmed to CNN that he met with special counsel Jack Smith's team in early May. Krebs' interview is the latest sign that the special counsel is taking a close look at Trump's efforts to undermine the election results.

In his interview, Krebs reportedly told investigators about his firing by Trump and the timeline surrounding it. Krebs was fired after he publicly rejected Trump's claims of widespread voter fraud. In a statement, Krebs said that there was "no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."

Trump's firing of Krebs was widely seen as retaliation for his refusal to go along with the president's false claims of election fraud. Krebs' firing was one of many actions taken by Trump in the weeks following the election to try to overturn the results. Trump and his allies filed dozens of lawsuits challenging the election results, but all of those lawsuits were dismissed by the courts. Trump also pressured state officials to overturn the results of the election, and he attempted to persuade Vice President Mike Pence to refuse to certify the results of the election on January 6, 2021.

The special counsel's investigation is ongoing, and it is unclear what charges, if any, will be filed against Trump or his allies. However, Krebs' firing is another piece of evidence that Trump was willing to do whatever it took to stay in power, even if it meant undermining the integrity of the American election system.

In addition to interviewing Krebs, the special counsel's team has also been asking witnesses about Trump's knowledge of election security. In particular, the special counsel is interested in a February 2020 Oval Office meeting where Trump praised improvements to the security of US elections. However, months later, Trump attacked those same systems, claiming that they had been compromised by widespread voter fraud.

The special counsel's investigation is still in its early stages, but it is clear that Trump's efforts to overturn the 2020 election are under close scrutiny. The investigation could have far-reaching implications for Trump and his allies, and it could also shed light on the extent to which Trump was willing to undermine the integrity of the American election system.

To take a varied point of view, check out the documentaries, that show, through the use of many camera systems- (you will have to Google Search it), of people deliberately attempting to alter ballot box deliveries. Certainly there were disruptions in the elections process in some areas of the US, but just how much, we would have to gather from those that are intimately involved in the uncovering of this injustice. I am not advocating for any one political party, but rather looking at evidence on the ground. Thanks for your article.
