Little Don Gold was a big town resident, living with his mom and dad; he told his mom he wanted to be President... he said that would make him glad.
Well, what Little Don wants, Little Don gets, Mom and Dad said, with great affection... and before the country knew it, there he was, running in the next election.
Everywhere he went was a sea of red... "Let's make America Great!" he said.
Let's change everything! Let's mix it up! I'll get a cat and call it a pup.
Now, the people were excited to see such a thing; to see such a fresh face in the political ring.
The crowds soon gathered; his popularity boomed... and before they all knew it, the people were doomed. Doomed to listen to his childish banter, as he spewed out fantasy, with absolute canter.
Bong, Bong... Bing, Bong... I can hug this flag, the whole day long!
Bing, Bing... Bong, Bing... I can do most anything.
I can do anything I want to do; just try me and I'll show you. I am the smartest person, you see... no one can be smarter than me.
I have big ideas in my brain, about befriending Korea and unclogging that drain; ideas about building a wall... one that's impenetrable (or at least very tall). I have all the best ideas, of course; I want to build a SPACE FORCE!
This child became President, against all odds; stunning the whole population. Even he, himself, was awed he'd been made leader of the nation.
Most were elated on the night he won, except for those in blue, for the other one - Miss Mallory Minton, a national dear, was very well known in the political sphere... but even some blue agreed she wasn't the one, to handle our problems and get the job done.
"We want something different," Donn heard people say, so he promised everyone everything by the end of the day.
He told the red they could keep their guns; and vowed gun control to the other ones.
He promised to change things and change things, he did... firing people at will. Then staffing the Whitehouse with family and friends, since he now had positions to fill.
Little Donn vowed his new crew would be wiser; Miss Kristie Kris became his closest advisor. He went on to announce his plans for the wall, promising Mexico would pay for it all.
"If I must, I will throw a fit and until I get what I want, I won't quit. Call it a fence, steel slats - or PEACHES; we just need a barrier to protect our beaches. We will make a wall of humans, if need be; nothing at all is going to stop me!
"A caravan of immigrants is coming this way... and we don't want them here to stay. They might be haters, or takers, I say, so we must stop them right away.
"My wall will be HUGE - one like never before; it will protect all our rich and keep out all their poor. It will rival the Great Wall that China enjoys and protect America's girls and boys.
"Now if other people want to come and see us, that is fine and dandy... but they can't just, come in and be us - although, they can be handy.
"My nanny is from Mexico," Little Donn proudly boasted, as he ate some gently buttered bread she had lightly toasted.
"I love my nanny," Little Donn said, "she takes good care of me. But if we let them all in, they won't all get a bed, and we can't feed them all for free.
"So give me the money," he told Congress, with a frown; "or I'm gonna shut the whole government down!"
Then it got STORMY and a scandal ensued... but Donn didn't get the least bit worried, rather, his vigor was quite renewed. ***She said, he said, (and did) this and that; she says she has proof...
a hair from his cat! (Obviously, Donn didn't listen to Miss Kristie Kris, when she warned him not to do that or this.)
"It's a witch-hunt!" he yells; "a set-up, I say! I would never do that... no, no; no way! There's an investigation obsession, you see - they just want you not to like me."
He left Kristie Kris in charge of the crew, saying she'd know just what to do. He told everyone to follow her instruction, while he went to start the wall construction.
"She speaks for me, so do as she orders; I'm going d0wn to check out our borders... but first, I think, I'll stop off and play a round of golf on the course today. After all, it's my family's course," Little Donn said, without remorse.
Now, at the border, Little Donn would find people who were gentle and kind... people who wanted the best for their children, even leaving some family behind.
Kids, who were even smaller than he; fathers and brothers and mothers-to-be. Yet, he was not humbled... he had no compassion. He put them in cages, in orderly fashion.
He demanded the children be taken from their mothers... and mothers from fathers, and sisters, from brothers.
He kept them locked up for months on end, and no matter the urging, he wouldn't bend. Both red and blue agreed this was wrong; we don't have to do this to prove we are strong!
Still, Little Donn did what Little Donn wanted; to him it was all a big game. Until, that is, his presidency was daunted... once the winter hurricanes came. "These hurricanes are big, indeed," he said, "really big... and really wet! Paper towels is what these people need, so that is what they'll get."
He looked around as he tossed out the rolls and noticed where houses once stood, now were holes. A yacht on a roof made him laugh at a moaner... "it's a boat," he said, "and you're the new owner!"
He'd never seen such a mess before; it was really, really bad. So many people lost their homes, and more... it kind of made Donn sad.
Suddenly, came inspiration... so he stood up to address the nation (and to brag about the job he had done).
"If we want peace and legislation, we can't have war and investigation... so, instead... let's have some fun! Let's invite everyone to come and play games; get to know them and learn their names... see if they are good or bad, and see what kind of plans they had.
"Well throw a party and invite them all... I'll bring the 'hamberders' and we'll have a ball! I'll bring French fries, and tacos, and pizza too! By the end of the party, we'll know what to do."
So they set up the tables, the lights and the song; they talked and they laughed and they danced all night long.
Then Little Donn got sad, and he wondered why; then he got made, when he began to cry. He feared nothing, or so he said... yet, there was all this anger in his head.
But fear, and anger, and sadness lift, with compassion, kindness and love... each of these, an emotional gift, sent to us from above.
These emotions increase the energy field that surrounds the world about us, and act for us, as a protective shield... both within, and without, us.
Donn saw we all have them; that we are all just the same, no matter your look, or your age, or your name. "Let's open the cages; let's not build that wall... let's hold each other up, so none of us fall! Money, healthcare, and freedom for all.
"Let's help ours, and their, and others, if we can; let the rich help the poor... now that sounds like a plan."
There is good and bad in every race, no matter the color of the face... no matter the amount of money you gain, no matter your luck, no matter your pain. "I know that now." Little Donn said, as he whispered he was sorry, and bowed his head.
He made amends to all he had hurt, and planted a willow tree in the soft dirt. This tree stood to symbolize the wisdom he sought, as he admitted, "being president is harder than I thought." ~the end~ DBTyon
