Hope?
A Political Dynasty In Crisis
Now, I’d like to begin my saying one thing; Politics.
That simple word can cause even the most docile person to erupt in passionate debate-style arguments, in which there is always one villain – them.
I’ve been walking this earth for seventeen years, and the way I interpret this world in my young eyes would be more right-wards leaning. Which is weird because my parents (specifically my mom) have taught me to look at the world in not just a conservative manner, but also to see the other perspective; liberal.
But none the less, I am conservative. And not the least ashamed of it.
Now, the reason why I’m writing this article is to express one feeling I’ve been having… Hope.
Why?
Simple.
Because our country may actually get the leader it deserves.
(I don’t usually write about politics, which is strange because I read the “Swamp” every day, and I’m working towards a political career.)
Now, for those who don’t know about Canadian politics, here’s a quick summary.
Justin Trudeau: Elected with a Liberal majority government, defeating the previous Prime Minister Stephen Harper. Trudeau ran from 2015 – now.
And in that limited time Trudeau doubled the Canadian debt ($1.232 Trillion as of August 30th 2024), while Canada suffers from high inflation, spiking grocery prices, rising mortgage rates, and a complete housing crisis (I doubt I’ll ever afford a home of my own.) And on top of this, our economy is close to a recession.
Currently Trudeau has a minority government, with a recent coalition with the NDP (New Democratic Party). However this supply-and-confidence agreement was terminated. With NDP leader Jagmeet Singh losing “confidence” with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Now, Trudeau faces intense scrutiny as his Vice Prime Minister Chrystia Freeland quit! (For you Americans that would be the near equivalent of the Vice President quitting.) Over a disagreement (and several preceding arguments) on how to handle Trump’s 25% tariffs on Canadian imports. Since Trump’s inauguration, our liberal government is too incompetent to handle the threat.
Now in my personal opinion. I would say Trudeau isn’t a tyrant, he’s close, but lacks the cold-heartedness to truly be one. But don’t get me wrong, he’s been the worst Prime Minister in living memory, perhaps ever. He invoked never-before-used Emergency power (was practically 1 step away from a dictator) over the peaceful “Freedom Convoy” protesters. (Yes, I said peaceful! For the Freedom Convoy never did incite violent protests.) He faces many scandals; including his famed “Black-faced” debacle. He’s a moron, and the only reason why he’s in this level of politics because of his father (Pierre Trudeau, 15th Prime Minister.) Justin couldn’t even stand up for Canada when Trump began calling us the “51st State!”

Pierre Poilievre.
He will probably be our next Prime Minister. As he should be. He stood up for Canada, stating that “Canada will never be the 51st state.” He has a plan (He claims) to tackle many of the problems that continuously plague our nation. And he leads a coalition of populists, social conservatives and center-right moderates.
Plus he has some fun catchphrases: “ax the tax!” “Let’s bring it home!” C’mon, the man’s a genius…
Poilievre will lead the “Common Sense Conservatives” to a predicted majority government (projected to be a landslide victory.) Now, many have discredited Poilievre for being a “Canadian Trump.” But why would we compliment Trump like that?
Listen.
I would rather live under 4 years of a MAGA Administration then spend another year under Trudeau. He has ran this country into the ground, we don’t deserve this.
I wrote this in the perspective of a citizen of Canada. Not as a political observer, but as an observer of my home and future.
In fact, as I’m writing right now, Trudeau is in absolute crisis. His government is in collapse, as his closest ally will now vote “no confidence” during the next motion. Trudeau’s future is bleak. He hasn’t even addressed the issues, he hasn't even addressed our nation (Yet.) He just can’t face the reality that (gasp!) we don’t like him anymore.
That’s why I have hope. Hope that we might have a strong government again, hope that our nation’s pride will be restored, hope that we can afford food, gas, and a home. I know I sound a bit cliché, but in a crisis a little cliché is what I do…
(Author’s note: Feel free to disagree if you wish. But please, don’t leave any hateful comments. I’m also not a professional political blogger or anything, all of these conclusions comes from personal research. And obviously this article will be bias against left-wing views because I’m conservative, so keep that in mind if you comment.
Thanks for reading.)
