Magic Money Book

It was December 2020. A senior citizen named Ada Cardano was sitting on her couch feeling drained from Covid ravishing America.

Her mind started to wonder. Just a few months ago, back in September, her 27 year old foster son, Satoni Nakamoto from Japan passed away from Covid. He spent 2 months in the hospital. His last few days were spent in isolation on a ventilator. He had lived with Ada for 12 years. Ada loved him like he was her own flesh and blood. Satoni was a good son. He was a recluse, and the computer was his friend. He would spend hours programming, coding, and creating projects on his desktop computer.

There were days when Ada would have to nearly bribe him to go swimming or shopping. She remembered those days so vividly. She truly missed Satoni.

Ada was now even more troubled by the fact that she hadn’t touched his belongings since he passed. It was time to clean out his room. This was a task that no mother ever wants to be faced with.

Ada begins to walk into Satoni’s room with empty boxes. She cleans out his chest of drawers and dresser. When she gets to his desk, she notices a little Black Book between the monitor and desktop computer.

She opens the book and sees a bunch of words that look like a programming language. She also notices a B that looks like a dollar sign was on one of the pages with the word Bitcoin under it.

Ada decides to finish cleaning up. She places the book back where she found it and leaves Satoni’s room.

In January 2021 Ada decides that she wants to take in another foster son. The agency sends her a sixteen year old teenager named Craig Rice. Craig was like Satoni in the manner in which he liked to use the computer.

In February 2021 Ada received a bill from the genral hospital which cared for Satoni. The portion of the bill that was uncovered by insurance was $220,000. There was no way Ada could pay the bill.

Craig consoled Ada while she cried over the bill. Craig thought about applying for a job. He hopped onto the computer. He needed some paper to write on. He noticed a black book between the monitor and desktop. He opened the book and saw the programming language. He realized that it had something to do with Bitcoin.

Craig finally found a page way in the back of the book that listed a Bitcoin wallet address and the private keys.

Craig got back on the computer. He went to the Bitcoin wallet site. It took awhile, but he was able to use the private keys to get into the Bitcoin wallet.

To Craig’s surprise, the wallet contained 100 Bitcoins which were worth a total of $5,000,000. Craig and Ada were able to open an account on the Coinchase exchange. He transferred all of the coins from the Bitcoin wallet to Coinchase. He cashed out the Bitcoin. Five million dollars was loaded into his custodial account with Ada. They paid the hospital bill, and they split the rest of the money. Ada placed Craig’s portion of the money in a trust fund/college fund.

One Sunday afternoon in late February 2021, Ada and Craig sat on the couch of their new home in a safer and more luxurious neighborhood. They both were reflecting on Satoni and how his black book and the secret to the magic money called Bitcoin had changed their lives. This black book held the keys to their fortune and their future. Life for them will never be the same.
