The Surprising Link Between Jimmy Dean And Kamala Harris' Stepdaughter Ella Emhoff
You could be part of the breakfast sandwich brand's iconic foray into fashion

It's going to burn your tongue, but you can't wait to bite into the soft griddle sandwich as soon as the microwave sings. As if the melted cheese, savory egg, and classic Jimmy Dean sausage taste weren't already enough, the new box that caught your eye in the freezer section declared REAL blueberries in the griddle cakes on both sides of the sandwich. You wanted a new flavor to shock you awake this morning. Go ahead, eat it while it's hot. Do you like it?
During the 2024 Democratic National Convention (DNC), you heard Ella Emhoff speak passionately about her respect for her stepmother, presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris. While she praised the careful listening and patient action her stepmother has always shown her, Emhoff wore an iconic blue and white dress that's brought some attention to the TikTok star behind it.
Now, the celebrated sausage and breakfast sandwich brand Jimmy Dean is teaming up with the exciting up-and-coming fashion designer who contributed to the second daughter's moving moment. The exciting part is that you can be part the exclusive campaign starting September 19th.
Jimmy Dean's Thoughts On America
You'd be surprised that Jimmy Dean's history is related to politics at all. While the brand might be most familiar to you from the meat aisle that features Maple, Italian, Sage sausage or the patties and links you enjoy with your breakfast, the namesake had a clear take on what America deserved.
The country music star and TV host became famous for his hits "Big Bad John" and "The Cajun Queen" before stretching his horizons to the meat game. His vision of America was always important to the sausage brand's offerings -- rumor has it he declared, “You know, there has got to be room in this country for a good quality sausage!” just before starting the iconic company, per Jimmy Dean.

If you agree that America should enjoy something high quality, you may want to know how the brand has collaborated with Ella Emhoff's DNC dress designer.
Ella Emhoff Could Be America's First Daughter
Ella Emhoff has been in the news as long as her stepmother Kamala Harris has been in the national spotlight, which must be exciting and terrifying for the young artist, who is currently 25 years old. She graduated from Parsons School of Design in 2021 and has made a name for herself as knitwear designer and the leader of a community-based knit club that is currently on hiatus for safety reasons.
Since her stepmother Kamala Harris is the Democratic presidential nominee, Emhoff could be America's First Daughter depending on the election results. While supporting the Harris Walz campaign, she's also taken the opportunity to uplift fellow designers like quiet traditional Rue Sophie, American staple Ralph Lauren, independent Australian brand St. Agni, phone case innovator Bailey Hikawa, plant-based shoe company JIIJ, and androgynous minimalist icon Helmut Lang in her looks posted to Instagram.
It's no surprise she took the chance to include another New York-based fashion artist on the biggest stage she's crossed yet. The ballerina-style pale blue leotard with white ruffled tutu skirt dress Emhoff wore to the 2024 DNC was made by an emerging fashion designer named Joe Ando that you're more and more likely to have seen around.
He has almost 3 million followers on TikTok, where he's built a following over many years making engaging content about his life in New York City as he honed his artistry and craft. Lately, his videos have focused on the dresses he's made for stars including Dakota Johnson, Rachel Zegler, and Millie Bobby Brown. When he got a chance to make a dress for fellow artist Emhoff, he took it. "It was cool," he told CNN Style. “People might not take me seriously. I’m very insecure about that,” he added. “But it’s also the most important thing, because people not taking me seriously allows me to just fully dive in. Like if they’re not going seriously to respect me, I kind of have nothing to lose.”
In this limited release, Joe Ando's Fashion Meets Jimmy Dean's Convenience

Fashion designer Joe Ando has teamed up with Jimmy Dean for a bit of fashion you can carry into your personal life. It's a special tote bag he designed with attention paid to how the sausage and breakfast sandwich brand's history matches his life as a hardworking fashion designer in New York City.
There are two new frozen sandwiches available in your local grocery store. Jimmy Dean recently came out with a couple of new sandwich offerings that come on Griddle Cakes -- One with Maple Griddle Cakes and the other on Blueberry Griddle Cakes. Both have sausage, egg, and cheese fillings.

There are two designs. The tote bags both have red trim and the fabric features exclusive illustrations that bring together the country Western aesthetic of the breakfast food company with the New York lifestyle of the designer. One brings a horseback cowboy, blueberry-stained sewing patterns, cacti, and the iconic Jimmy Dean logo. The other features a clothesline in the clouds, subway tokens, a resilient lasso-throwing rider, and mountain landscapes. The bags are meant to be the perfect way to carry the new Griddle Cake Breakfast Sandwiches -- Jimmy Dean has dubbed them the "Griddle Bag" and wants you to stow their new sandwiches in them.
