The leaked Samsung S24 spec sheet provides a detailed overview of the future lineup.
The specifications for the next Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and S24 Ultra have been leaked online, coupled with solid evidence for a January 17th release date.
If the grapevine is to be trusted, we are just under a month away from witnessing the introduction of Samsung's newest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S24 series. On the X platform, formerly known as Twitter, Evan Blass, a reliable leaker, has revealed what seems to be an early glimpse of a countdown to the upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event. The countdown indicates that "Galaxy AI is coming" on January 18th at 3 AM KST, equivalent to 1 PM ET on January 17th, aligning with a previously reported launch date. Blass has also shared a leaked specification sheet for the three devices, confirming numerous features that were previously rumored.
As per the spec sheet, Samsung is once again set to unveil three models within the series. These include the standard Galaxy S24 with a 6.2-inch screen, the S24 Plus with a larger 6.7-inch display, and the S24 Ultra boasting a sizable 6.8-inch screen. The specification sheet notes that all three models will be powered by Qualcomm's latest flagship processor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. However, there are rumors suggesting that outside the United States, Canada, and China, the phones will be equipped with Samsung's own Exynos 2400 processor.
Regarding the cameras, the S24 Ultra appears to maintain a 200-megapixel main sensor, consistent with the S23 Ultra, while the S24 and S24 Plus cap at 50 megapixels. The telephoto lens on the S24 Ultra allows for a zoom of up to 10x, whereas the other two models max out at 3x. Other speculated camera specifications include 10-megapixel telephoto sensors on the S24 and S24 Plus. The S24 Ultra is rumored to feature a pair of telephoto lenses—one 50-megapixel with a 5x optical zoom (reportedly expandable to 10x zoom through cropping) and another 10-megapixel with 3x optical zoom. All three phones are said to have 12-megapixel ultrawide lenses and 12-megapixel selfie cameras.
In terms of batteries, the leaked spec sheet indicates that the S24 is equipped with a 4,000mAh capacity, the S24 Plus with 4,900mAh, and the Ultra with 5,000mAh. The entire range boasts IP68 water and dust resistance, and the spec sheet confirms that the S24 Ultra will utilize titanium in its construction, in contrast to aluminum in the S24 and S24 Plus.
For a comprehensive view of the phones in various colors and from all perspectives, images shared by Arsène Lupin on X have you covered. The three phones exhibit a striking resemblance to their 2023 predecessors, with the S24 Ultra rumored to feature a completely flat screen this time, departing from the subtle curves seen on the S23 Ultra. Available color options include black, gray, purple, and yellow, with the possibility of additional colors through Samsung’s own store.
On a hardware level, it seems like a year of refinements for Samsung's flagship lineup. However, the software side may bring more excitement, especially considering the teaser in Blass's countdown timer stating, "Galaxy AI is coming." According to a recent report by Korea Times, Samsung's generative AI model, known as "Gauss," could be integrated into the upcoming Galaxy S24 series. If true, Gauss would run natively on the device, enabling functions such as generating and editing images, composing emails, summarizing documents, and assisting with coding. Samsung has also expressed plans to use AI for real-time translation of phone calls. These features could provide Samsung with a compelling advantage as it strives to compete with Google's latest AI-enhanced Pixel devices.
