Genuine diamonds that are also known as man-made diamonds are those that have been manufactured in laboratories; they are formed entirely of carbon and are 100% similar in terms of chemistry and optics to diamonds that have been mined from the earth's interior. Similar circumstances to those found beneath the Earth—namely, carbon, pressure, and heat—are simulated in laboratories to produce lab-grown diamonds. Currently, two methods—Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) and High Pressure-High Temperature—are used to make diamond gemstones (HPHT). For particular diamond sizes & hues, each approach is practical. Because lab-grown diamonds and their mined counterparts are chemically equivalent, they have the same brilliance and sparkle and are assessed using the same 4Cs as earth-mined diamonds.
