By Lynne BlackPublished 11 months ago 3 min read

Rock red for American Heart Month! So, heart disease is the number #1 killer of women. In 2004, the American Heart Association started an initiative to address one of women’s biggest health risks.

Rock Red

First and foremost, raising awareness is essential to women everywhere. To learn more about this disease that impacts men and women worldwide; visit my American Heart Month February post.

At the same time, Wear Red is observed yearly on the first Friday of February. Because the entire month of February is American Heart Month; it is essential that you support cardiovascular disease. Over 700,000 people die in the United States every year. But, those numbers are just for the USA. In 140 countries, both men and women die from this disease every year.

So, are you ready to keep your heart healthy?

Keep Your Heart Healthy

When it comes to keeping your heart healthy; below are my recommendations to reduce your risk of developing a heart condition.

Of course, eating a healthy diet is essential.

Eat a balanced diet of fruit, healthy fats, protein, and vegetables. For some tips, check out my Create a Healthy Lifestyle to Reduce Weight post.

Be active.

Exercise. and include cardio exercise of at least 150 minutes a week

Quit smoking. Visit my Great American Smokeout post for tips to quit.

See your Doctor yearly for a heart health check.

Have your blood pressure and cholesterol checked regularly.

Rock Red to Show Your Support

Whether you or someone you know has heart disease; wearing red shows your support for anyone who has been affected by heart disease.

At the same time, the first Friday in February is National Wear Red Day. Though this day is celebrated yearly, it doesn’t have to be the first Friday of the month to wear something in red.

Not only is this American Heart Month, but it is also one of the most romantic months of the year.

LIKELY Leva Dress

So, if you are looking to show your support and your love anything with hearts; this dress is perfect to wear on Galentine’s Day, Valentine’s Day, date night, or really, any time during the Winter season.

Of course, it doesn’t have to be Sunday or you don’t have to live in Brooklyn to wear this blouse.

Pair this blouse with your favorite jeans, skirt, or pants.

When you are looking for a cute pair of Chucks; this iconic style will show your flair.

Also, these are cute to wear on Galentine’s Day or anytime.

In the meantime, if you haven’t bought your wife or girlfriend something for Valentine’s Day, you may want to consider buying these Earrings for her.

These Earrings feature a trio of hearts – Mother of Pearl, and a pink and red enamel heart with pink Sapphires and red Ruby gemstones in 18k yellow gold over sterling silver in a drop design.

In crimson passion, this is the perfect shade to wear today.

Not only is this lipstick in the perfect shade to highlight what you are wearing, but it also has a weightless feel.

Furthermore, this lipstick should last for approximately 15 hours.

Meanwhile, this day isn’t only for women. Men should wear something in red in either a shirt, necktie, or an accessory to show their support for heart health awareness.
