The collective research on trauma, memory, diet, new people and how they work together. I am unsure how to explain but everyone has been traumatized. Not everyone stays traumatized. Through simple logic and experience or therapy eventually overcome those feelings and accept the event.
In cases of a single severe trauma, repetitive trauma, or unresolved childhood trauma’s, the mind will do the best to make sure things go okay. Although okay, is far from the truth. Empaths will say the body is “manifesting” the negative energy. Which is not wrong but also not right? The body has reacted and continues to react to the trauma until it is resolved in all ways. The reaction can release these four main stress hormones Adrenaline, Noradrenaline, Cortisol, Dopamine. Yes, Dopamine can be release during a traumatic event. This can be released in both the victim and the attacker after an event. Dopamine can often be released in victims during or after the event ‘trauma confirming’ behaviours. Telling an individual, they knew better, or knew that would happen, or removing ones self from the situation can result in the production of dopamine. (Remember this for later). I think everyone knows what Adrenaline is, how it works, and what it’s good for. In my opinion, just like a heart, everyone has got one. In my opinion, the serious focus needs to be on Noradrenaline and Cortisol. Noradrenaline is the counter part to adrenaline, acting as the communicator between the release of adrenaline and actual body responses like elevated heart rate, increased blood pressure, and sweating. Affecting the vascular tone of blood vessels. Cortisol is the well know “stress hormone”. But what does it really do for us: simply regulating metabolism, inflammatory response, immune function and stress response. That is a lot for just one hormone to affect. Now the side affects if we over produce Cortisol is anxiety, depression, digestive problems, head aches, heart disease, sleeping problems, weight gain, memory, and concentration impairment. So why wouldn’t we focus on a adrenaline or dopamine? Adrenalines half life is 2 minutes, many studies have shown the only way to get rid of adrenaline or epinephrine is through cardiovascular activity. The dopamine is important for remembering the feeling through reflection and experimentation (do not subject yourself to trauma, experiment with high stress or new activities). Reflecting on when the dopamine is released and how it feels will prevent Stockholm Syndrome for the victim could become the unknow self abuser by being enthralled with the dopamine and overall routine of the trauma. This requires therapy/or many self-help activities to overcome as it is behavioral more then its hormonal.
So the main focus on Noradrenaline, in my opinion just like everyone’s got a liver, in my opinion Noradrenaline would be the main factor that puts one at higher vascular risks, including heart disease and stroke. As it’s the communicator between adrenaline and the actual responses. Continuous triggers or high levels of noradrenaline will lead to improper regulation, leading to the more extreme side effects mention thus far. Now in combination with Cortisol. Do I need to elaborate more? In combination the physical effects and mental effects could permanently alter said person into being institutionalized to their own emotions/experiences.
So That was Trauma, Please refer to the image attached.
Now you know what is happening inside chemically, This attachment will explain how trauma effects the memory.
Dieting and altering lifestyle. A diet won’t work if the lifestyle has not been altered as well. People can say it takes 8 weeks to notice weight loss. How many weeks does it take to notice stress loss? It takes three months, at least. The best amount of time is three months to six months. Treat the lifestyle change like probation at a new job. If you commit, act with pride, and always want what is best that is what one will get. If one gives up when it is hard- not just physically- It can take away from the first two months of progress. Either way the point is that it does not matter what keto-diet, weight watchers, Jenny Craig, or any other program one can join. It will always plateau or be difficult to keep the weight off until the regulation of hormones is returned. Through exercise and monitored association. Monitored association is still socializing with people you enjoy but forcing yourself to socialize with people that can make you uncomfortable in good ways. These monitored associations should be well known and established in their social life. This goes with my favorite saying, “make friends with people who force you to level up”. Also get a few hobbies or try new hobbies.
How it all works together,
Trauma happens, hormones release, reactions happen, lack of physical exercise due to the lack of optimistic mentality, missed people then creates missed opportunities and the trauma trigger cycle continues until acceptance happens. Nothing can change what has happened, just the outlook and how it is dealt with.
So if you think about the mental and physical side effects mentioned Previously. Do you think that can occur from being overstressed or traumatized? How many of those side effects have you experienced, or see others experience?
Thank you for dropping by and making it to the end!
Sincerely,
Janessa Kára
