The Role of Free Will in Narcissism and Life Choices
Free Will or Not?

And it is neither.
Abuse of one’s own free will is the cause of this situation.
Moreover, free will is always about making choices.
The combination of free will, the self-reprogramming properties of thinking and rationality, and the data input supplied by emotions derived from life events might result in a mode or route that is capable of self-correction and self-healing. It is possible to compare it to the automatic correction of grammar and spelling, if you will. It’s called your conscience, and it’s something that’s organically embedded within you. At more advanced levels, it is referred to as your spirit. On the other hand, I’ll just leave it at that conscience. The reason why spirit is also engaged is due to the fact that love is an essential input, and love is a spiritual quality that originates from a source that is independent of an individual’s conscience.
It is possible to “stumble” upon the correct road in life, even if it takes some time, provided that the appropriate decisions are made (that is, truth vs lie, right versus wrong).
However, there is a catch: while you are bumbling about, you need to manage to keep some semblance of self-integrity (which you will subsequently build upon). On self-deception, you cannot continue to build and grow. Because if you did, when you get past a certain degree of self-deception that is undetectable to others, it is permanent.
21 Test all things; hold fast what is good.
22 Abstain from every form of evil.
Bible Gateway passage: 1 Thessalonians 4–5 — New King James Version
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy — meditate on these things.
Bible Gateway passage: Philippians 4:8 — New King James Version
When seen through this lens, narcissism may be defined as the result of an individual’s sole use of their free will to tell falsehoods to themselves (and to everyone else), to seek profits and advantages in the name of being ignoble, being unjust, being unfair, and generally just pursuing the way of ill report.
It is a way of approaching life that involves chasing vice as opposed to virtue as a means of finding solutions to problems.
7 Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.
Bible Gateway passage: Galatians 6:7, Galatians 6:9–10 — New King James Version
Narcissism is not something that should be praised in any way.
When a person spends their whole life chasing something that is not deserving of praise, they develop narcissism. This may really become apparent very early in life, depending on how intensely the pursuit of unpraised worthiness is followed.
Neither a social phenomenon nor a genetic deficiency can be attributed to it. The risk of a person choosing a course in life that is not deserving of praise may be increased by a number of different factors. However, life has never been easy for me. Were you under the impression that the ancient people enjoyed stress-free lives that did not entail failing harvests and starvation, being enslaved, or their adversaries attempting to murder them, plunder them, drive off their womenfolk and life stock, and other such things?
In life, there are at all times chances to choose the path of least resistance.
Taking a problem-solving attitude to life is what narcissism is all about.
In life, this is one technique to finding solutions to problems.
11 ‘You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another. 12 And you shall not swear by My name falsely, nor shall you profane the name of your God: I am the Lord.
13 ‘You shall not cheat your neighbor, nor rob him. The wages of him who is hired shall not remain with you all night until morning.
Bible Gateway passage: Leviticus 19:11–13 — New King James Version
This one is the alternate method of approaching the solutions to life’s problems.
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.
Bible Gateway passage: John 10:10 — New King James Version
44 You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.
45 But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me.
Bible Gateway passage: John 8:44–45 — New King James Version
This is the essence of what it is to have free will. Pick your own exciting journey.
Cain’s sacrifice was rejected by God; what actions did he take in response?
Destroy Abel.
How come?
For the reason that it was Cain’s effort to find a solution to the situation.
How exactly does it take care of any issues?
That is not the case. Narcissists usually turn to this type of crazymaking method to issue resolution, which is exactly the kind of approach as described above.
But why is that?
Cain may have, at the core of the issue, reasoned that he could murder Abel in order to get revenge on both God and Abel. It is possible that he believed that both of them were conspiring against him, and it is also possible that he had paranoid fantasies about the consequences of his actions.
Regardless of the circumstances, it is impossible for anybody who walked in truth to have used the Cain method of problem resolution.
This is the first thing that a person who is living in truth would do: “Why, God, why?”
It is possible that God will kindly respond, and then those of us who are farther downstream will be able to know the genuine reason why God did not take the sacrifice rather than speculating about it.
There is a clear indication of what is wrong with Cain, as seen by the fact that the Bible never explains the reason why God rejected the sacrifice since Cain never bothered to inquire. The adventures that Cain chooses are not very virtuous. In no way is he lovable.
Why, God, why? is the question that would be asked by a person who is lovable. In such case, the events can take a different turn.
