Masks the Truth

Indeed, they are able to. In the event that you force them to complete the section of the IQ test that focuses on logic and reasoning, their score will not exhibit any discernible deviations. To put it another way, they have the same standing that you and I have.

It should come as no surprise that the higher functioning a narcissist is, the higher their logic and reasoning scores are. This implies that high functioning narcissists are, in theory, more rational than the ordinary person.

On the other hand, the issue with all narcissists is that their personalities are unstable and divided.

Simply put, this indicates that you are not dealing with a single individual. Despite the fact that they do not have multiple personality disorder, their character is very unstable and inconsistent due to the fact that they wear a number of masks and have a propensity of disregarding reality, the truth, or anything that they find uncomfortable. To put it plainly, she is quite unpredictable.

Additionally, they have never in their whole lives engaged in self-reflection. The process of defragmenting a hard drive is analogous to going through introspection for our thinking. A method of bringing things back into harmony and accord, as well as a type of mental cleansing and sorting of memory and personality. It is possible for fragmentation to go unchecked until you basically obtain the human counterpart of lost clusters, which is data loss, if this has never been done.

Narcissists are functionally psychotic and functionally have multiple personality disorder as a result of this aspect of their personality. As a result of the fact that it is only at sub-clinical levels, it is difficult to recognize and detect. This is analogous to a VCR that only fails while it is at home, but otherwise runs perfectly when it is at the repair shop.

It is referred to as ambulatory schizophrenia by Scott M. Peck. With the exception of bouts, which often take place in secret and behind closed doors, it is considered sub-clinical, which means that it is not visible. Whenever they are at work or in public, narcissists often make it a point to look as rational and coherent as they possibly can. The masks of normalcy that they wear are extremely well maintained.

Despite the fact that narcissists can appear to be just as logical and rational as the next applicant in written tests and interviews, at their core, what is truly inside the narcissist is a psychotic person. They have so many disconnected masks, and they have so little life reflection and introspection that there is actually nobody real in there who can actually interface with real reality. Instead, there are just many masks and urges that are fighting for dominance behind a disingenuous façade.

From the perspective of a narcissist, it is possible to assert that they do not have a genuine self or a genuine reality. There is no reality; everything is an illusion, a fractured and shattered funhouse of wild mirrors.

You have a person who is capable of feats of mental and emotional lunacy that beggars belief, regardless of how high the narcissist scores on logic tests. When they periodically crack (due to their invisible narcissist cycles) and become psychotic, you have a person who is capable of doing things that are beyond belief. However, only those who are closest to them are able to see it. The vast majority of people never have the opportunity to even catch a glimpse of this, and as a result, not only do those who are not familiar with the individual are unaware that they are a narcissist, but they also frequently assert that the individual is a highly logical, highly rational, and thoughtful individual who thinks carefully. They may even include the obligatory comment that they “wouldn’t hurt a fly.”
