The Scarlet A
I suffer from Generalized Anxiety Disorder, and some of my fellow GAD friends know that some situations cause more anxiety than others. Medical appointments do it for me I have this overwhelming anxiety every time I go that they are going to tell me something awful or I have some rare disease, but what I have also found is that once a doctor finds out that I suffer from anxiety they have a hard time looking past that The Scarlet A ( anxiety) to give me any other diagnosis or treatment. Now, of course, I’m not talking about all doctors and I have finally found doctors that are willing to work with me and my anxiety but it has been a long road to get to that point.

Causes, Problems and Cure of the Anxiety of Vomiting
I got to the point that I thought I would never get over emetophobia. That it was impossible for me to cure emetophobia because it was such a big part of me. I think I actually started to define myself in terms of my emetophobia. If you had asked me "what I was" I would have said emetophobic before I said, woman, American or wife (obviously I would never have said this out loud!).

My Biggest Fear
As a woman who has been blessed in her life to have most of what she wanted my biggest fear is dying feeling unfulfilled. It is easy to do, and many people who have accomplished much and at the end of their lives felt empty. This is what I do not want to happen to me. I did not even think of this until the pandemic caused the USA to close down in March 2020. Being shut-in for a while and then having to use some precautions that I usually would not have to think about when going out I started to ponder about the end of my life. Before March 2020 I was too busy to think about the end. Just had so much to do that I would be physically tired at the end the day.

A Simple Technique to Immediately Interrupt Anxiety
Anxiety is like a stomach bug — it comes on strong at the most inopportune times. One such time for me occurred during my pre-doctoral internship. I was on a three-month rotation with the neuropsychology service — a training requirement for graduation, but not my chosen subspeciality. I was assigned to observe a procedure in which a patient received direct electrical stimulation to his brain.
