The Empathic Mind
Being an empath is not easy. Especially in today's world where people's emotions run rampant and issues with the world are at an all-time high. Most people get lost in the fray when it comes to being empathic. Many never knowing that they have such an ability. Most of the time it's diagnosed as an illness or an issue when, in truth, it's an ability most can only barely understand. You go through stages of feeling crazy not knowing why you lash out, moments of sadness, fear, and anger, all steaming from this ability. It's a double-edged sword that makes you amazing at understanding others and then in the same breath feeling overwhelmed by what's around you. To the point of feeling like drowning in a sea of emotions.

Mental Illness and Me
Mental Illness Mental illness is no less important than a visible illness. The only problem is that people who have not suffered with mental illness do not and will not ever understand what it’s like. Sure, they can guess and go off what they’re told, but you can never be prepared to go through any sort of mental illness. I’m going off of what I’ve experienced, which is generalised anxiety and depression.

Do You Have Adult ADHD?
ADHD is surprisingly common in adults, and is often misdiagnosed as another mood disorder. ADHD doesn't present as the hyperactive disorder many of us expect, and is often recognized as a result of the anxiety, stress, low self esteem, and anger that many of those with ADHD suffer. Many adults live with ADHD for years, developing coping mechanisms to help manage symptoms before they ever realize that ADHD is what they have been coping with all along. The year he turned 30, my partner took on a new job and his stress level had shot up more than expected. Depressed, anxious, and suffering from a plummet in self esteem, I began to piece together that he had been suffering for a long time from adult ADHD, and the coping mechanisms he had stopped working to cover up what he was having trouble with.

Screaming Into the Void
In this day and age, while depression has most certainly existed throughout all of human existence, albeit under different names and logic, it would appear that, in this era, more people suffer from bouts of depression and suicidal contemplation more so on average. It is not uncommon for someone with depression to have contemplated killing themselves at one time or another. While most people blend in, with varying degrees of success, to mask their true emotions and psychological state, others do not fare as well and will eventually deteriorate into more dangerous territory as they let on.

Cymbalta: Is it Really Worth the Risk?
Cymbalta. Duloxetine. Two different names, one medication. Cymbalta is used to treat anxiety and depression, but can also be used to help treat nerve pain, chronic back pain, and fibromyalgia. You see commercials about Cymbalta on and off on TV, and they list the side effects so fast that it just sounds like a bunch of gibberish. What are the real sideeffects? Well, there is a long, long list of side effects. I won't list them all, but I will list the side effects that I experienced while on it.

Using a Bullet Journal to Relieve Anxiety and Depression
Anxiety is often paired with depression because the feelings of hopelessness and pointlessness inevitably lead to thoughts of how much worse our lives can get. We imagine our lives falling apart, piece by piece, until we fade away into nothing. For me, this often includes how all my responsibilities will go undone and everyone that relies on me or cares for me will stop caring about me.
