States of Mind
The Revolution of Elemental Thought

Intro:
What is a fact? Is it an undeniable piece of information? Perhaps some conclusion, which is so generally agreed upon, that questioning it comes to seem unquestionable? Or is a fact just a theory, tested by the scientific method so well as to appear to be consistent, and deemed true by the lack of opposition? In any case, take for instance:
I. States of Mind: A conceptual process of how you formulate decisions.
There are four steps, and they mimic the states of matter. Ironic? Not really. These steps are not usually identifiable and they occur subconsciously, meaning we aren't aware of them. Moreover, they aren't always going to occur in order, and may even occur more than once in different combinations. Here's an overview-
Matter / Mind | Element
Solid Certainty Earth
Liquid Probability Water
Gaseous Possibility Air
Plasmic Responsibility Fire
1) We always begin with certainty or that which is "solid." This is because the easiest way to undertake new information is to relate it to what you already know (to be certain). The noun here is certainty and the associated verb is to ascertain. So, in the state of choice, you would obviously first collect the facts. Observe and gather. Say, if there is a fire, its important you know about it and whether it is really happening. Ascertain (or take) a good look and observe the situation. Yes, there is a small trashcan fire.
2) Next, is our probability analysis. We scaffold out into the future and ask how probable certain realities are to occur. This is called the "liquid" step because liquids are the most probable (predictable) state of matter. The noun here is probability (probe - ability) and the associated verb is to probe. So, in the state of choice, you would then probe (or ask) the situation to understand what is probably going to happen. "Has anybody dialed 911? How did it start?" you might ask. You find out they are on the way, but also ascertain that the cigarette fire is growing and about to catch important files on fire. So you probe further "is there anything we can do to circumvent that probable reality (safely)?"
3) Third, is your position (proposition/supposition) in the circumstance. We know for certain there is a fire, and have asked to be sure that the fire rescue is on their way, but you have ascertained that important files on the desk are at stake... can you help it? This is called the "gaseous" step because gasses have less probability (more possibility) of where its molecules are located/ where they are headed- unlike liquids. The noun here is possibility (pose - ability) and the associated verb is to pose. So now, in the state of choice, you begin posing (suggesting) possible decisions you could make- based off of the criteria that ascertaining and probing have given you. "Well, I suppose the fire isn't too dangerous, yet" you may suggest and then propose to mediate the fire yourself. Then you ascertain (again) your surroundings, and notice a fire extinguisher on the wall beside you. You probe the situation "will this be beneficial? Or is it dangerous?" You might ask. Perhaps, you suppose the fire isn't so big as to not be willing to try.
4) Lastly, the responsibility. This is what it comes down to. And ideally, you'll want to jump around the first three steps before reaching this one, because here is when you act. "Measure twice, cut once." This step is called the "plasmic" step since plasma (or fire) is the one state of matter that (undoubtedly) acts upon or altars its immediate surroundings. There is no coincidence that you must be responsible to handle fire. The noun here is responsibility (response - ability) and the associated verb is to respond. You have ascertained the situation, probed the possible outcomes, posed a solution and now will yourself to act upon it. You grab the fire extinguisher and put the fire out.
II. Image Engine: A look into the future.
You might not think the imagination (image-engine-in-action) has anything to do with survival, but it is probably the most important component. There is a technical imagination, and there is a general imagination. The technical allows you to imagine possible real-world scenarios based off of current variables and anticipated variables. This imagination is the kind where you imagined a tiger leaping out of the forest and ravaging your family. So it prompts you to take certain steps to avoid this outcome via the States of Mind as described above. Also the mental tension that occurs while vigorously trying to ascertain, probe, pose and respond, is anxiety- but that is a topic for another writing.
What is the imagination or "image engine?" Quite literally it is your third eye. Consider for a second what an "eye" actually does. It is a spectacle for the brain or mind, that peers out into the possible futures of space that you can occupy. And so, in the same way that your physical eyes look forward out into space to consider states of spaces that you can occupy and attend- your metaphysical third eye looks forward out into time to consider states of time that you can occupy and attend. In both instances, your bodily vehicle permeates the decisions you choose to make which ends up carrying you toward the reality (or future) that you intend to live.
