Influence of colors on thought patterns and behaviours

Color is a very powerful communication tool and it can be used to signal action, influence mood, and even influence physiological reaction. Certain colors have been associated with increased blood pressure, increased metabolism and eyestrain.
White

As the purest of all colors, white is a serene and calming hue that symbolizes new beginnings. White is an uplifting color that instills goodness. White is illuminating, helping our minds to focus. White is definite, bringing clarity and marking definite borders. White is the color of uncertainty, of illumination and of insight.
Pink

The color pink is thought to be a calming color associated with love, kindness and femininity. This is also linked to toning down aggression. Pink is an effective mood regulator and also linked with joy, tenderness and affection.
Green

Love is evergreen. The color of life and growth, Green is everywhere. It's the most common color in the natural world. It relaxes muscles and increases blood histamine levels. Green is calming, stress relieving and has been shown to improve reading ability and creativity.
Orange

Cheerful and Optimistic. Orange is energetic, spontaneous and dynamic. Orange is associated with high energy and vibrant social environment. It's the color that resonates with young people. Orange stimulates the appetite, increases energy level and boost metabolism.
Red

Red has a range of symbolic meanings including life, health, vigor, war, courage, anger, love and power. Red is a color of passion and heightened emotion. Red speeds up our heart rate, blood flow and body temperature. Red stimulates our sense of smell and taste.
Purple

Purple represents royalty, nobility, luxury, power, and ambition. Purple also display meanings of wealth, extravagance, creativity, wisdom, dignity, grandeur, devotion, peace, pride, mystery and independence. Light purples are associated with light-hearted, romantic energies while darker shades can represent sadness and frustration. The color purple has a variety of effects on the mind and body, including uplifting spirits, calming the mind and nerves, enhancing the sacred, encouraging imagination and creativity.
Yellow

Yellow is the color of sun, smiley faces and sunflowers. It is a happy, youthful color, full of hope and positivity. It stimulates our nerves, glands and brain making us more alert and energized. Yellow boost our memory and encourages communication. It's a color that promotes activity and interaction.
Blue

Blue is the nature's color for water and sky. The color represents the open spaces, freedom, infinity, imagination and sensitivity. Most blue coveys a sense of trust, loyalty and cleanliness.
Black

The color of power and sophistication. Black is incredibly strong and intimidating color that exudes authority and intelligence to those who wear it. It symbolizes prestige, formality and importance. In the fashion realm, Black is synonymous with class and flair.
Gold

Gold is associated with illumination, love, courage, compassion, magic and wisdom. Gold is a precious metal that is associated with wealth, grandeur and prosperity as well as sparkle, glitz and glamour. Golden color adds richness and warmth to everything that it comes in contact with. At the highest level, golden color is associated with understanding and enlightenment. It inspired knowledge, spirituality and a deep understanding of ourselves and our souls.
Turquoise

Turquoise, the captivating sea-green stone of the ancients represents wisdom, tranquility, protection, good fortune and hope. It has a strong link to ocean so is connected to calmness and peace as well. Turquoise controls and heals the emotions creating emotional balance and stability. This is a color that recharges our spirits during the times of mental stress and tiredness. It heightens levels of creativity and is a great color to have around you.
Lavender

Lavender is its own distinct family of colors. This colors represents purity, grace, silence, devotion and spiritual connectivity. This is also the royalty and speaks of elegance, refinement and luxury too. Lavender has a number of medicinal properties from aromatherapy to value as an antiseptic. Because of this, the color is mentally associated with healing and relaxation.
