Getting a Grip on Anxiety
Today I'm writing about the thing that made me start writing in the first place. When I logged onto Tumblr to find a picture for this article I had a somewhat odd experience. I typed in the word "anxiety" and a concerned notification popped up in the middle of my screen. Are you okay?Was the headline. Below it repeated the same question and then suggested "happier" blogs for me to look at. I had to literally confirm that I was alright in order to see the search results I requested.

Living with Mental Illness
There is a stigma that comes with mental illness. It is looked down on, joked about, and quite often, it's dismissed. Believe it or not, mental illness is more common than you might think. One in four adults are affected by mental illness. That is 61,500,000 people in a given year. Not only is it common, it also does not discriminate. You see people on social media or at school or work and you think they have everything figured out, that because they're smiling and laughing or because they have a million friends, they're happy and everything is okay. Wrong. I'm here to tell you, that is all just a cover up.

"Feeling Like I'm in a Dream"
I start to feel very "odd" when I turned 17. I never really paid much attention to it at first and wrote it off as my depression and anxiety getting worse. I'd been severely depressed since I was 10-years-old; a family death combined with bullying and abuse triggered it at a young age so I'd been living with it for 7 years and I was starting to learn how to cope with it in my own way.
