Steel and Skin
Steel and skin, drip by drip I watch it fall. A sweet addiction and dangerous too. It's cold against my skin, the steel. The room is dark with only the moon for light. In the cover of the night, no one is there to witness the personal shame. The dark corners of my mind hiding the little horrors that no one ever gets to see.

The 'Troubled' Artist. Top Story - August 2018.
Through the years, art has had a tendancy to connect itself to mental health. There is a cliche concept of the 'troubled artist.' Hearing of Van Gogh slicing off his own ear, such stories can stick like glue to the whole profession. In general, there can be assumptions of art linking to mental illness. Though, searching for evidence, there honestly is little to no concrete proof of art being a source mental illness. With that being said, I'd like to address how mental health can be intertwined with art, from my experience.

Suicide Sundays
The birds are chirping. The sun seeps through the shades. Quiet whispers from the wind fill the room, alongside the orange glow. Your eyes fuss, squinting trying to block out the light creeping in. Legs tied up in sheets, you hide your face in one of the pillows, chills run down your spine from the brisk spring air. Your mouth has a funny metallic taste, as you roll over onto your left side, hoping that the sun hasn’t reached the other side of the room, but it has. You realize going back to sleep isn’t an option, and you sit up holding your knees to your chest.
