Schizophrenia Awareness
Today I am going to talk about a mental health disorder that a lot of the time gets misunderstood. When it comes to this mental health disorder, people always think about the worst cases, but what about the others? Schizophrenia is a mental health disorder that many people don’t know about. In my opinion, we need to talk more about it and bring more awareness to this mental disorder. I would like to bring it to the light for others to learn about. I’m only 16, so please don’t hold me accountable if I get some of these facts wrong. I am just talking about the information I could find.

Living Life with Chronic Anxiety
Living life with chronic anxiety feels like an uphill battle that you will never win. It feels so out of your control and like you will never win. Even when everything seems to be going as planned, your brain finds more to worry about and hones in on it. It is life filled with coping mechanisms, both good and poor, and pretending that life is good when in reality it feels like a water balloon with a leak that is slowly losing all of its contents. Anxiety comes in the form of needing to control people and things, setting high standards for yourself and becoming your worst critic, being scared to go out with people, being scared to go anywhere for that matter, having even the best things ruined by the little voice in your head, and constantly worrying.

It's difficult and stressful finding a way out of trauma after abuse, knowing there is no set timeframe for the success of your recovery. You can't force it and must be patient with the pace. Recovery is different for everybody, and it doesn't improve trying to isolate yourself, you must stay connected with the world around you. There are three stages of emotional and physical trauma recovery; safety and stabilization, remembrance and mourning, then reconnection and integration.

Internet Addiction Disorder Is a Mental Disease, Not a Joke
For the earlier years of my childhood, I suffered from a disorder that doesn't exist. As a naive, innocent child, I was easily dragged into hypnosis in the form of a desktop computer that I simply couldn't get enough of. I never was able to fathom how technology became my biggest enemy, although I didn't have it nearly as bad as the cast of the Terminator franchise. However, I suffered from a disease whose existence is still deep in debate.

5 Minutes
It was my first day off after a crazy Black Friday weekend at work. I was looking forward to sleeping in and engaging in some enjoyable activities and all around just relax. The day started out good, but as with most of my stories, sure didn't end that way.

Why Do We Romanticize Depression?
Seeing depression depicted in movies and TV shows isn’t necessarily rare, but frequently it’s depicted in such a way as to seem "quirky" or even "romantic." Often it’s "cured" by the romantic plot and everyone lives happily ever after.

The Frightening Consequences of Childhood Trauma
It's no secret that abuse and neglect in childhood cause damage to the child. It's unsurprising that psychological harm could persist for many years. What is less known, though, is the profound connection between negative experiences in childhood and adverse health outcomes in adulthood. The Adverse Childhood Experiences was the first large study to shine a stark light on just how overwhelming this link was.
