Mykie
(This is a warning! This has some graphic detail and triggers in it) Mykie glanced in the mirror, tracing her outline with a shaky finger. She didn't even know why she was crying anymore; but, she couldn't seem to stop either. Her eyes were puffy and glossed over, there was no way she could hide it this time. Her tears fell silently down her flushed cheeks; while she tried to keep herself quiet. Her breathing was raspy and shallow, she could feel the knot in her chest threatening to keep her from breathing at all. Cold chills were sweeping their way through her body. It pained her that this was more feeling than the numbness she had begun to grow accustomed to as of late.

Explaining Depression to Someone Who Doesn't Believe in Mental Illness
it’s the weight of a full-body cast, forcing you to the bed, unable to move. it’s the cotton in your mouth after a root canal, morphing your words to indecipherable muttering. it’s the silence after a wake. you can’t name it, but it brings about a heavy silence that you can feel, rendering you useless. it’s the woman lying on a hospital bed after a miscarriage, feeling utterly alone after the body exits her womb.

A Rapid Cycle
I wake up in the morning and find myself shining with a ray of hope for the day. I am ready to take on the world. No army can assuage me. I make some eggs since that seems to be all I can afford to eat for breakfast right now. Then my typical morning starts. I have a cigarette where my pains burn away in the cherry. I taste the sweet coating and burn of a Camel Crush Menthol and try to say, "Fuck it all", as I blow out the smoke. I feel my heart start to burn with passion and ambition and put on my favorite song Eye of the Storm by Ryan Stevenson to get myself going for the day. That's when I get sucked into the rabbit hole by daydreaming of what could've happened and what could've been in the past.
