Ozark: Portraying Mental Illness
Ozark season three threw a spanner in the works when a new character with bipolarism was introduced. Minor spoilers ahead. Amidst the Byrd family’s usual antics with the mob, the Snells, and pretty much everyone who’s wanted to kill Marty at some point, a new character is introduced: Wendy’s brother Ben. In the beginning, it seems like he’s been thrown in the mix to add another character and some minor plot points but as time goes on it’s revealed that he’s one of the most notable characters of the season.

Since time immemorial, people have been guilty of terror. Back in the Jurassic era, humans were threatened by large, horrible animals. Then the biggest threat to human civilization was habitat. You might think how habitat was one of the greatest threats to human civilization? The answer is simple, today we see big algae in the oceans that can grow up to 100 meters in length known as kelps. These kelps are modified versions of their forefathers. So you can imagine what it would have been like millions of years ago.

Catharsis
There is nothing more familiar than the feeling of wearing my old patch work jeans; with years of patches on multi colored thread, they cover my skin in a graveyard of shitty denim. I am used to the rugged scratchiness of the stitches rubbing my legs raw when I walk; they bear down on me as a reminder of how heavy it feels to make a life worth living.
