We’ve all been there before – someone boring is talking and we can’t escape. Their voice drones on and on, and before we know it, we’re zoning out. It’s not that we don’t care about them, it’s just that their conversation is incredibly dull.

But what if you could spot a boring person before they even had a chance to talk? It would make life so much easier, wouldn’t it? Well, that’s where this article comes in.

There are certain red flags you can look out for to spot a boring person. If the person you’re talking to exhibits any of the following behaviors, they’re probably not going to be very interesting to talk to.

Are you surrounded by people who are just too darn boring? Do you find yourself constantly zoning out when they start talking? It's time to put an end to the monotony and learn how to identify the characteristics of a boring person!

We all know or are close to someone who doesn’t seem to be up to anything — that person who is not good at games or does not understand double meanings. Then I will tell you, point by point, what makes people boring in the eyes of others.

1. They do not understand the ironies. Their way of thinking is linear.

When you make a joke, likely, they will not welcome you with open arms since it is outside their understanding. These people usually lack the spontaneity necessary to make use of humor.

2. They are usually serious. They are expressionless in their gestures and expressionless with their face and limbs — the quality they share with shy or introverted people.

3. The cultural codes escape him. As a result, they don’t understand the right way to behave in social settings.

4. His way of having fun is not that of the majority, and his hobbies may have scandalized anyone. His way of understanding fun is not so physical, and it’s rather mental. That is why the social sphere stuns them, and they never finish understanding others, nor do others understand them.

5. They do not have a very developed social sphere. That is why they do not intend to be part of groups or adapt their roles to adapt. A matter that can frustrate others.

6. They never tell you anything exciting or out of the ordinary. Either because they think that nobody will be interested in the same thing that interests them or because they are reluctant to show what is important to them and experience sharing with others as an act out of control.

7. His habits are always the same. He gets up simultaneously, does the same activities, and goes to bed at the same time. He never does anything that is out of plan.

8. Your tone of voice is linear. It is neither too low nor too high, and it usually stays at the same pitch. They are usually traditional, rigid, and austere people.

9. They consider entertaining or social acts a complete waste of time that they receive with reluctance and tension.

10. They drone on and on about the same topics.

11. They're always negative and pessimistic

I consider myself a boring person and, although I do not meet all the points, I think that I am the opposite of what is considered “the life of the party.”

Not everyone reaches my world, and not everyone is fascinated by the same thing as me. I have my way of having fun: painting, writing and studying. Here is an example of one of my works
