Enriching yourself is more powerful than pleasing others
Don't try to please others

Someone said: "Don't chase a horse, you use the time you chase horses to plant grass, and when the spring flowers bloom, you can attract a group of horses for you to choose from; don't deliberately flatter a person, use the time when you don't have friends to improve When the time is ripe, you will have a group of friends with you; friends made with human affection are only temporary, friends made with personality are long-term. Therefore, enriching yourself is more powerful than pleasing others.”
In our world, where most of the time is spent with family, friends, classmates, and colleagues, you can't make everyone a confidant, much less everyone. You work hard to please people, but you may not necessarily be liked or accepted by others, and you may only get ridicule and disdain. Unnecessarily catering to others, unconsciously, the real self is slowly eroded away in the process of pleasing others, and the self is lost.
We always appreciate others, criticize ourselves, and always trim ourselves to look like others after experiencing all kinds of temptations and setbacks. However, there is only one unique self in this world, and there is no other person who can replace it. Why not give yourself more encouragement to appreciate and enrich yourself? Everyone has their own characteristics and personalities, and the qualities in you will naturally attract like-minded people, without having to posturing to suit others.
To enrich yourself, you can read a good book and improve your cultural accomplishment and taste. Books are the precious blood of the great mind. Wandering in the ocean of excellent books, talking with the sages, communicating with the wise, being nurtured and infiltrated by them is very important for the improvement of a person's self-cultivation. "The book has its own golden house, and the book has its own beauty like jade", reading makes people get a kind of elegance and flavor, keeps your heart calm and peaceful, and makes you sensible and generous.
To enrich yourself, you can travel more. "Read ten thousand books, travel ten thousand miles." Either reading or traveling, there is always one of the body and soul on the way. Travel can change your life, change your mindset, make you see a different world, and make your world different from others. Traveling can expand your horizons and teach you to grow and become a different you, a better you.
To enrich oneself, but also to be good at self-examination. Wang Yangming, the most famous philosopher and thinker of the Ming Dynasty in China, advocated that "seeing the virtuous and thinking together, seeing the virtuous and introspecting inwardly, you will not be blamed, and self-governance will be strict." Thinking of learning from him, seeing someone who has no virtue, he should reflect in his heart to see if he has the same mistakes. In this way, you won't blame others too much and be strict with yourself.
Introspection is a mirror that can see the stains on the soul, and then illuminate the way forward. In work and life, many people often complain about others, but never find the reason in themselves. Only by constantly reflecting on oneself can one continue to improve; the ability to progress and learn is also reflected in the ability to reflect. Self-reflection can also help you find your own strengths and enrich your life.
Song Meiling is such a wonderful and rich woman. Former U.S. Secretary of State Henry Kissinger commented on Soong Meiling: "A beauty in troubled times, with the extraordinary emotion of women, she has influenced the world." Soong Meiling delivered a speech to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, becoming the first Chinese to give a speech in the U.S. Congress. She has read a lot of books, learned both Chinese and Western languages, is proficient in six languages, is proficient in piano performance, has a good hand in writing, and is also very accomplished in traditional Chinese painting. This is how she keeps learning and enriching herself.
In fact, enriching yourself does not need to be deliberate. As long as you do everything well, time will reward you. There are many beneficial things that will naturally settle down with the passage of time. A person who knows how to invest in himself and enrich himself can often get unexpected results. The richer you are, the more valuable you are. Plant a plane tree and attract phoenixes. If you are in full bloom, the breeze will come; if you are wonderful, the sky will arrange it.
Years have taught us to understand, tolerate and live with the circumstances. We are no longer cynical and blame others. Years have taught us to take responsibility. We no longer depend on others and shirk our responsibilities. Time can wear away our elegance, but it brings us mature charm; dust can dim our face, but infiltrate a piece of wisdom and calmness in our hearts. Only by constantly enriching ourselves can we save ourselves, and only self-confidence, self-esteem and self-love can master your own life.
Enriching yourself is more powerful than pleasing others. Knowing how to enrich, appreciate and please yourself is a treasure of happiness. When no one applauds for us, give yourself an encouragement; when no one tries to cry for us, give yourself some comfort; when we feel ashamed, give yourself space and confidence. Then shake off yesterday's fatigue and helplessness, brush away yesterday's pain and tears, go to meet the new morning sun tomorrow, and walk towards a sunny morning.
