Do you know what the harms of drugs are?
Tobacco and drugs

Tobacco is made by drying the leaves and stems of the tobacco plant. Cigarettes are made by cutting and wrapping the dried leaves in special paper, and bindis and cigars are made by wrapping the leaves in special paper. The consumption of smoke and vapor from burning these is called smoking. Tobacco releases a substance called nicotine, which, as a narcotic, temporarily stimulates the nerves and harms the body in various ways. Smoking, in addition to nicotine, also causes some other toxic substances to enter the body. Cigarette smoke contains a significant amount of toxic gases, chemicals, and narcotics. These substances reduce the oxygen-carrying capacity of hemoglobin in the blood. It also contains several adhesives and hydrocarbons, which cause various diseases in the lungs (Figure 1.06), and even cancer.
Smoking is our most familiar drug. The harmful conditions and diseases that occur in the human body as a result of smoking are:
1. Smokers are more susceptible to disease than others.
2. Smokers suffer from some diseases such as: lung cancer, cancer of the lips, mouth, larynx, throat and bladder, bronchitis, stomach ulcers and heart and blood diseases. If lung cancer occurs, the patient dies within about 5 years.
3. Studies have shown that those who smoke a lot have a shorter life expectancy.
4. People who do not smoke but are close to smokers and inhale the smoke emitted by smokers also suffer physical harm.
Efforts to control smoking and tobacco use :
1. Smoking has been banned in buses, trains, open spaces, restaurants, offices, hospitals, railway stations, etc. Smoking is now punishable by law everywhere and there are specific laws for this in our country. But unfortunately, due to the lack of proper implementation of this law, people are still polluting the surrounding air by smoking everywhere. The existing law must be strictly enforced. The government must take firm steps in this regard.
2. It has been made mandatory to print the words "Smoking is Poisonous" or "Smoking is Harmful to the Body" on the packaging of tobacco products that can be sold.
3. A ban has been imposed on advertising tobacco and tobacco products.
4. It is necessary to completely ban the advertising and sale of cigarettes and tobacco products near schools, colleges and other educational institution addiction

A person's addiction to drugs can arise in various ways, such as: curiosity, social isolation, an attempt to relieve depression, a way to forget mental pain, making oneself more efficient, a desire to get rid of family turmoil, or family habits. If a father or mother is addicted to a drug, the child is at the highest risk of becoming addicted to that drug.
