Here's a problem that's caused a lot of imaginations to go wild and it pertains to the term "work hard". You hear a lot of Americans say this to justify some sort of entitlement or reason for being divisive. "I work so hard". It's rarely, "I slave away" or "I sold my soul" although I have heard that from the more honest of the lot. But that's what it is; enslavement. Meanwhile, they wonder why their families are broken and are constantly in debt as they hand over their broken bodies and minds to people who exploit them. To justify their burden, they point fingers at the miscreants, buy things they don't need or can't afford, give themselves over to authorities that render them down into dependent drones that are just functional enough to work and continue to pay while they compare their "accomplishments", virtue-signaling their continued obedience. They do everything in their power to perpetuate the lifestyle to protect themselves from the disillusionment that awaits them at that moment of clarity and catharsis. But God save the free when the enslaved take up societal roles and masquerade as masters in the fellowship of house slaves.
The distractions; sports, or what the Romans used to call bread and circuses. They're still existent and serve the same purpose today as they had in that day; to distract the citizenry from revolting against the Emperor. Even possessions that, again, folks "worked so hard" to obtain, serve as some kind of trophy that places them higher on the imaginary rung. Meanwhile, people making their own way as entrepreneurs are despised for not subjecting themselves to the same abuse as the collective, whose Stockholm Syndrome is so far off the charts that cognitive dissonance has replaced their critical thinking and anything that opposes their way of life is perceived as a threat to the well-being of their hive. The free man knows it's the system and has been since attendance to the institutions of indoctrination we call public schools were compulsory, which operate under old Prussian rules. Finally, there are the substances, which further induce the undead into a state of perpetual and insatiable hunger that ravages all that is sacred abound.
Now we are entering an age when our creations will soon relieve us of our toils and many who decided not to rest will be forced to do so. The true nature of their character will then be surmised by all as they will be forced to reconsider the path they had taken, being entirely removed from it. What will become important to them then will depend on what they conditioned themselves to appreciate throughout their years. Will they find peace or fall victim to wanting what was but no longer is? While a reset is technically a sound way to re-establish functionality, it's the update that determines the functions. Either people learn how to script their own program, tune out the updates entirely or continue to have their code be written for them, by developers intent on perpetuating their servitude and applying their efforts for the "even greater good"; the same system under a different name.
If people can find purpose in real virtue, that of humility, honesty, tolerance, patience and forgiveness, realize their chains and demand better than who they've become, then perhaps then they can begin living their own lives, in harmony with the rest and even start to fulfill the dreams they abandoned so long ago. Otherwise they will remain under the influence by the privileged, crafty and scandalous with no will or future of their own.
