“Who Truly Enters Paradise?”

How wisdom and belief in all prophets clarified the path to Paradise.

The question placed before the gathering was simple, yet profound: Who will enter Paradise—Jews, Christians, or Muslims?

To seek an answer, scholars from all three religions were invited to a formal discussion. Representing the Muslims was the renowned Islamic scholar Imam Muhammad Abduh. From the Christian side came a senior priest, well-versed in theology and scripture. Representing Judaism was a respected rabbi, known for his knowledge of religious law and tradition. All three sat before an attentive audience, made up of thinkers, critics, and followers of different faiths.

The same question was placed before them all:

Who will enter Paradise—Jews, Christians, or Muslims?

A silence fell over the hall as people waited for the responses. Many expected long arguments, heated debate, or sharp criticism of other beliefs. Instead, Imam Muhammad Abduh rose calmly to speak. His posture was dignified, his voice composed, and his words filled with wisdom, logic, and respect.

He did not raise his voice, nor did he attempt to belittle the beliefs of others. Rather, he spoke with clarity, tolerance, and a deep understanding of faith.

He said:

“If the Jews enter Paradise, then we Muslims will enter Paradise with them. This is because we believe in their Prophet, Moses (peace be upon him). We believe that Allah sent him as a messenger for the guidance of His people, and we honor him as a true prophet of God.”

The audience listened attentively. The rabbi remained silent, surprised by the fairness and generosity of this statement.

Imam Muhammad Abduh continued:

“And if the Christians enter Paradise, then we Muslims will also enter Paradise with them. This is because we believe in Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) as well. We believe that Allah sent him as a noble messenger to guide humanity. We respect him, honor his message, and believe in his miraculous birth and his role as a prophet of God.”

At this point, many in the audience exchanged thoughtful glances. The Christian priest listened closely, unable to object to a statement rooted in acknowledgment rather than denial.

Then Imam Muhammad Abduh paused briefly before delivering the final part of his answer—one that would leave a lasting impression on everyone present.

He said:

“But if the Muslims enter Paradise, then we will enter Paradise alone, and only through the mercy of Allah.”

A quiet tension filled the hall.

He continued:

“This is because neither the Jews nor the Christians believe in our Prophet, Muhammad Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him). They do not accept him as the final Messenger of God, nor do they believe in the message that Allah revealed to him. And belief in all of Allah’s prophets is essential.”

His words were firm, yet free of arrogance. There was no mockery, no hostility—only truth presented with dignity.

The logic was undeniable. Muslims believe in Moses and Jesus, while also believing in Muhammad (peace be upon them all). Jews do not accept Jesus or Muhammad, and Christians do not accept Muhammad. Therefore, only Muslims affirm all the prophets sent by Allah.

For a moment, the hall remained silent. The critics had no rebuttal. The Christian priest and the Jewish rabbi exchanged glances, unable to respond. Without a word, they quietly stood up and left the gathering.

A gentle smile spread across the faces of the Muslims present—not out of pride, but out of relief that truth had been spoken with wisdom and respect.

That day, the debate ended—not through argument, but through clarity, tolerance, and profound understanding.

“This incident became a clear example that when truth is presented with wisdom and respect, hearts accept it on their own.”
