Under the Lesser Light
Sweet moonlight on her lips of stardust

"God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night." (Genesis 1:16a - NIV)
Moonlight reflects her eyes and I see nothing else
A ‘lesser’ light that ‘governs the night’ now governs my heart
Yet there is nothing lesser about what that light reveals
In this silver glow under the full and bright one
I see her outline, I see her delicate nose wiggle
I see Her smile
Her smile … coated in moonlight and wishing stardust
On the fourth day the greater and the lesser were made
How many days passed before her beauty was formed?
Right now, it is night, no morning or day, just night
And it is good
For under this shine of lesser great light I reach for her
Our hands grasp each other, Our breasts press tight
Our cheeks flush in equal measure, Our eyes meet
Our lips …
-
Dawn’s light breaks forth and brings rude awakening
Another night of her … under our moon, but a dream
Nothing more
My girl of starlight … waiting under lesser light's shine
Under our full moon, she waits …
