The RuPaul Talk Show

A “retro”spective and tribute

By Ca$imuzPublished 6 months ago 3 min read

RuPaul used to have a talk show on VH1 in the late 90s early 2000s called the RuPaul show. I remember when I first saw the RuPaul talk show I thought to myself I do not know what this is. I’m watching, but I like it and this person meaning RuPaul seems likable so I watched him and really did enjoy immensely. RuPaul is and was a really good talkshow host who always made the interviews with her guests really . Her guests were celebrities and icons from all walks of the entertainment field. Also RuPaul‘s friend used to be her sidekick on the talk show is now her sidekick on RuPaul‘s drag race . Another thing is that now if you look at pictures from Many of the on drag race working on the RuPaul talk long ago.

Many iconic celebrities that had appeared on the RuPaul talk show. A few of my memorable ones Anna Nicole Smith, basketball legend Dennis Rodman, who RuPaul actually kissed on the show, and after they shared a kiss, RuPaul said that his lips were juicy. Another gay icon who appeared on the show was the late great Pete Burns from dead or alive the famous band known for the track you spin me right round like a record baby. And was the time of the Latin explosion members of MDO Menudo had also appeared on the show too. There was also Joan Rivers, Cher , and basically anyone who’s anyone in Hollywood the entertainment field were on the RuPaul talk show. You know I don’t think that Boy George was on the RuPaul talk don’t think he was myself.

The RuPaul talk show was a really fun talk show. At the beginning of each show would come out sing one of her fabulous songs and do a hilarious monologue. It was on the RuPaul talk show that many of famous catchphrases were born like for instance, if you can’t love yourself how in the hell gonna love someone else, The one where RuPaul would say everybody say love and that transcend it over to what she is doing now ‘s drag race, and a lot of RuPaul‘s great music would always be the talk show and now drag race is another platform in to do the music as well. I miss the talk show but like everything nothing last but I’m glad that there was a show like the RuPaul talk show on VH1 that was a late night I enjoyed very much. It was camp. It was fun. It was totally gay. It was awesome. It was wonderful.

Another thing I’d like to mention is that the RuPaul talk show was not only a talk show it also had it also 70s variety show like you had skits and comedy and humor and just a really great show. Whoever it was over at VH1 that give RuPaul made an excellent decision because it was well worth it. A lot of celebrities you gave a talk know how to run with it, but with RuPaul, however That wasn’t the is really great at doing talk shows in fact great at doing put his mind too. I think RuPaul is one of the coolest icons out there and quite frankly, I think that RuPaul deserves all the success and everything that he has earned in his life. God bless that man, and God bless the fact that he’s in touch with who he is as a female who he as a male too that’s a gift in itself. Long live RuPaul Andre Charles.
