RuPaul House of Hidden Meanings is a great book
A literary review

RuPaul’s memoir that was recently released is called The House of Hidden Meanings and in my opinion i truly did enjoy reading the life story of RuPaul. Ru’s writing style is like you’re sitting at a bar having a drink with a friend and you both decide to start talking to a friend. RuPaul talked about when she was first getting work in show business how she was an extra in the B52’s video for their song Love Shack. Her cameo is really brief but hard to miss she is the tall black chick with an large Afro and a bandana dressed in white bumpin with this scrawny little white guy.
They say that a picture is worth a thousand words and that is very true because there are a lot of pictures from Ru’s life that help to tell the story of her fabulous and fierce life from the cradle to the reigning drag queen and super model of the world. The title of the memoir alone really does tell her story exceptionally well it is very poetic and also the title alone was enough of a reason for me to buy the book alone to be quite honest.
In reading her book it was nice to learn that I have much in common with RuPaul and I also see a lot of myself in RuPaul and that has to be why I like the celebrities I do like with me it’s not obsession I simply see myself reflected back.

RuPaul’s House of Hidden Meanings chronicles his journey in Drag and also she had discovered her true sexual identity. This is a great book for anyone out there to know it is ok to be gay. RuPaul is a symbol of empowerment and pride. Of course Ru’s entertainment journey was sex, drugs, and Rock n roll as it jolly well should be. He really does rock literally because starting out Ru was in a 🤘 Metal band, alright RuPaul!

The book is also philosophical and there are morals all through and this book is full of life lessons. Who’s better to teach about life than RuPaul.

I took a lot away from reading this book and if I had a book club I would absolutely include this book on my booklist. RuPaul and I both love peanut butter cookies 🍪 from our respective childhoods.
In his formative years Ru and his family had moved around a lot too from Atlanta Georgia to San Diego California I hope that I got the order right. Desi Arnaz gets a shout out in the book when RuPaul says when he and his family got to San Diego his house was the first house of a star that RuPaul saw as they passed by.

RuPaul talks about all of the many loves of RuPaul. At the writing of the book Ru has a beautiful relationship with a man who was actually named Gorgeous. I appreciate how philosophical and deep RuPaul had allowed herself to go.
As I write this review I realize that I took away more from this book then I had originally thought that I had to begin with. RuPaul’s book is one of those books that really worth reading again and that really does say a lot.

Writer is just one more thing that RuPaul can add to long and extensive list of talents and it’s just one more thing that makes RuPaul an full fledged multi media mogul. This book was really a book worth reading and it’s one of those books that you can read on the beach or anywhere you are.
