I know that giving up an hour of your time for a podcast or a TV show is no small thing. In these days of unlimited offerings, what do you give your precious time to?

For me it's movies. I’ve seen a lot of them and some I’ve seen many times over. I have lists. And more lists. I’m on Letterboxd, where they love lists.

On Letterboxd I'm GoodDogPard

Anyway, every now and then I fall off my list of "things to watch" and find myself tumbling into a tangle of unexpected screen pleasures. And I just let all those lists and listicles and popsicles go (ok, not the popsicles, it was just a good rhyme-sicle).

My body eases into the sofa as my psyche relaxes into the unexpected. Recently, I let these people - Tom Henry and Brandon Ash-Mohammed - take me somewhere I hadn’t been before, learn something I didn’t know, question something I thought I knew, and just flat out laugh a lot.

Brandon has done a lot of stage and screen work, and his album, Capricornication, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Canada Comedy charts. It made him the first Gay, Black Canadian to release a comedy album.

There’s a raw realness to his conversation with the host on the The Tom Henry Show, and all topics are laced with hilarity and insights. This episode made me laugh so much, especially the invented drag names and the 2 seconds of the Jordane Skeeterson impression (don't ask, just watch).

Catch the episode right here or go directly to Tom Henry's youtube channel where you can LIKE and SUBSCRIBE:

And then, watch some other eps - the one with Robert Sheehan (Klaus in The Umbrella Academy) is fabulous. And the one with the lovely Michelle Mylett (Katy in Letterkenny) is truly worth your time.

And if you don't yet know who Tom Henry is, he's a wunderkind:

P.S. Did you know that approximately 10,000 films were made in America in the 30s? I told a friend that, adding: “And I’ve seen all of them.” That's not true, but she believed me anyway.

Fun! I read somewhere that Canada is the funniest country in the world. Probably ranked by comedy clubs per capita, plus how many truly funny actors and actresses have been Canadian. 😋
