Germany approves the purchase of 18 main battle tanks
In an important step towards increasing its military capability, German lawmakers gave the go-ahead for the acquisition of 18 main battle tanks and 12 self-propelled howitzers. The 843 million euro ($910 million) order will be fulfilled by domestic manufacturers Rheinmetall AG and Krauss-Maffei Wegmann GmbH. This decision is part of an effort to replace equipment previously stationed in Ukraine and thus strengthen Germany's defense capabilities.
