Of all the shapeshifters
I envy nonbinary the most
Sloughing off convention
Convention disregarded them first
Polyglot guardians
Sounding out an ancient alphabet
Keepers of transformation spells
I think of the way angels are actually described
Hundred eyes to see, power to wield
Beyond human comprehension
Love is not confined to lock and key parts
Our consciousness
Is not trapped
In our human container
We are mostly water anyway
Shift simple molecules to be yourself
I would like to try on a new suit
But my threads are tied to other threads
So I must abide in this vessel
And I do, without complaint
No desire to break open my mold
It is comfortable and soft
Although I do take steps
To try on new clothes
Your courage
Lends me courage
To become someone new
About the Creator
Aspen Marie
In love with life and all of its foibles.
