PRIDE, Life and Feelings, Etched in the Rainbow
The colors that I see

If the sky was pink and life was ink,
What stories does the rainbow tell?
Paints the world in different views
Use the colors that you choose.
Green for new growth,
Yellow for happiness we feel,
Orange for longevity,
And blue, well it’s the peaceful one.
Serenity and calm for everyone,
The rainbow says it all.
If the sky was pink and life was ink
What stories does it tell?
The ancient Greeks would write “It is a road,
For messengers from the world,
To talk to Gods upon their thrones.”
Others say the rainbow drinks
Water from earth’s wells -
The lakes, the rivers, and the sea.
The rainbow fills up all the clouds,
That then returns it to the wells.
If the sky was pink and life was ink
What stories does it tell?
With PRIDE it tells a different tale -
Yellow for the brilliant sun
That feeds the red for life,
Against the green of nature’s place
Lined with the purple of spirit and grace.
Orange tells of a healing place and celebration too,
Against the backdrop of the blue,
Serenity and peace to all, including you.
Till next time, thanks for reading my poem,
Calvin

well done
The rainbow is fascinating in every culture often something like bridge from Earth to heaven. And no wonder, that the gay community took it as flag!
