Last Fish in the Sea
Or (Online Dating as a Christian Trans Woman)

Hope fades as like memories of love
Time to return to the cave, to despair
The signs are clear, read them and know
You are and will always be … alone
No one out there to bump into in queues
No one online is swiping right, as they say
Few stay for long when they find out
Even though who you are is not hidden
They unmatch, ghost and leave or else chase
Unsure what is worse, their hate or their lust
But none want what you want, what you dream of
Not the casual fun they offer, you want ... more
A life, a home, to love and hold. Not just 'host'
So alone you walk, alone you ... I ... must be
Unless by some chance of butterfly’s wing
The one for me is true and waiting out there
But the longer I sit alone in this shadow
The more I realise, the more I will accept
I am alone, the very last fish left in the sea

Heavy and emotionally stirring! I wish you all the best with looking!
There just so much here and just this heavy heavy feeling. Such vulnerability and just sigh
Love the allegories and the way you let that tell the story.
Gosh I thought this was so raw and heartbreaking. You definitely aren’t the last fish in the sea. Wishing you all the very best.
