Inside a Cloud
A poem about being careful on Social Media

My face is hit by thousands drops
My eyes are burning
So moist and heavy my breathing stops
I hear sounds for ever returning
.
The wind is fast
and presses me back
like signals in a wired mast
howling and scary black
.
I open my dreaming eyes
I am inside a cloud
Walking on earth and not in skies
Strange people shout out so loud
.
I want a man
I found you what a luck
Now I am your greatest fan
Two minutes I have know you, start the clock.
.
But help me first, I am at war
My phone is dying and I need cash
Or in a drillingtower on the shore
Vacation please - you ask and I will get it in a flash.
.
The more I walk in this foggy night
The changing pictures of foreign faces
On socials like drops they fight
To catch my attention they state their cases
.
I try to text and check for scam
It isn’t allways easy to know
But I believe in love – it takes time like ham
to smoke for gusto, most is just show.
.
I walk with the drops hitting my face
Someday my eyes will see Mr. Right
Who might write or speak a real man’s case
Fog gone and real love and warmth will open my sight.
.
.
"Inside a Cloud" portrays the foggy and often confusing experience of being active on social media, where short, intrusive messages can feel more like commands than genuine interest.
The poem’s rhythm is deliberately choppy to reflect the superficial and impatient communication many encounter online. While I believe in romance, true connection requires more than just a random message. The poem balances the hope for love with the disappointment of empty words – a walk through the fog toward clarity and authenticity.

Good job Henrik!
Awesome poem. Online dating is hard.
Amazing poem about the murky side of online connections 🩷 - I have encountered all those scams too. One of the reasons I got off online dating all together.
Beautiful. Wishing you love and brighter, happy days in your future.
