Potent explores the various strains of marijuana.
Mushrooms of Palenque
The ancient Mayas, Aztecs and pre Columbian inhabitants of Central and South America worshipped divine power in the cult of the sacred mushroom. Their word for the hallucinogenic variety. “teonanacatl,” translates to “god's flesh.” This apparent reference to an alternative form of holy communion profoundly offended the Catholic priests who came to the “new world" with the Spanish Conquistadores. They went to great lengths to suppress mushroom worship among the natives and completely destroyed those cults which worshipped the mushroom as a fertility symbol.

Hash Cafes of Cairo
Cairo, the violent sun can broil the brains of a field worker or tourist, but there is soothing relief in the secret shadows of Cairo's famous hash cafes. The workers who pick produce in the relentless heat, the cab drivers, the engineers, the rootless young men, the slow-moving old men, all who have the half dollar for the cup of strong tea and a pipeful of rich Lebanese hash, men of all ages come to relax in the forbidden comfort of camaraderie and cannabis in the comfort of the hash cafes of Cairo.

Colombian Gold Marijuana Strain
Colombian marijuana symbolized the sprawling, commercialized 70s drug culture that would eventually lead to notorious cartels and an awesome Netflix series called Narcos. Back then though, marijuana was under critical attack for the violence that accompanied its trafficking. The pale to dark green pot with the unmistakable smokey taste and aroma had become the staple moneymaker for a Ford Motor Company sized illicit industry, Colombian marijuana was the Big Mac of the weed world.

Most Beautiful Marijuana Strains
With the politicization of marijuana use and the stoner comedies that permeate the media, it becomes easy to forget that cannabis is a plant. As with almost any plant, certain strains are bred to look beautiful. They come in a variety of color combinations, textures, and forms. Some are frosted and crystalline while others are not. Each unique strain comes with its own name that indicates something about its appearance and quality, as often a beautiful appearance will hint at an underlying pleasant effects. While I've recently become more of a vape pen enthusiast, I cant deny my love for these strains. Thats because these beautiful marijuana strains will not only make you feel well, but also captivate you visually with their shapes, textures, and colors.

Maui Wowie Marijuana Strain
Everyone who knows Peter Hunt, a tall blond in his late twenties, thinks of him as a nice guy. Peter comes from a “good family” on the East Coast, went to a college prep school, attended an Ivy League college, and even did some graduate work in biology.

Beginner's Guide to Weed
Do the terms diploid or polyploid have any meaning for you? Probably not. But if you have any interest in understanding what makes one bag of marijuana give you nothing but a mild headache, while another makes you feel no pain, then perhaps you should read on, and become enlightened.

Growing Sweet Sensimilla Bud
Up in the misty canyons of the Sierra Nevada, the word is sinsemilla. The pot that’s hand-tended and carefully watched through the growing season is the finest domestic smoke you can find, if you can find it. Strewn all over California are small homesteads growing this weed without seeds, stems or smuggling problems. The quality of this pot is unmistakably due to the careful tending of the grower. During the growing season the farmers are prepared for the worst, especially rip-offs, and many weeks are spent sleeping in the field of highs with a weapon and a paranoid outlook.
