The science and art behind growing marijuana and the industry around it.
Do as the Plant Does
I, by my very nature (pun intended), am NOT a green thumb. People will hand me all sorts of potted plants to take care of, mistakenly believing they'll survive longer than a month. When I initially started growing marijuana, I just wanted to save a buck. My first attempt cost me 100$ worth of gardening materials, and I killed all four of my plants, two of which I managed to brutally murder in their infancy.

Let's Grow Some Weed!
He showed me the rows of plants, beautiful and almost ready to be harvested, with small crystals on the leaves. I never thought I could create anything that beautiful, but my friend who had grown all those beautiful plants, died at the age of 36 from a medical condition which had not been diagnosed. I decided to learn how to grow a beautiful plant in his memory. I had a bunch of seeds I'd collected over the past months, and not knowing anything about the difference between sativa and indica, or that I wanted a female plant and not a male plant, I decided to plant the seeds.

Birds, Bees, and Butterflies. Top Story - August 2021.
For as long as I can remember, I have always loved playing in the dirt. I remember the fondness with which my father would recall the time when he first handed a very young me a squiggling, slimy earthworm. He said the sound that erupted along with the expression on my little face was nothing short of sheer delight.

My passion
I have an unconventional passion in life. Breeding medical marijuana cultivars is what I spend all my free time doing. Hand selecting the perfect terpene profiles to isolate and stabilize is an art. I have spent endless hours researching the genetic profiles that would create the ideal combination for relief of specific ailments. Narrowing phenotype expression is a labor-intensive process that takes a tremendous amount of time and dedication. Anyone can pollinate a plant and create seeds. Not everyone can successfully duplicate the results generation after generation.

GROWING
I truly believe some people don't know they are responsible for their own happiness, or at least I didn't for most my life. I based my mood on how others treated me or made me feel. I had been in mostly abusive relationships and I was ready to break free from the norm. This was always a scary thought for me because I know I struggle with any change, good or bad. I had been overweight most my life and decided to have a gastric bypass. I've been about 120 pounds lighter and have maintained it for the past 16 years. Once I learned I didn't need other people in order to be happy, I had to find activities and hobbies that helped me make myself happy. I had to work on me.
