The Four-Twenty Games... Yep, They're Real
If you picture what a ‘420 Games’ would look like, let’s get real ---- you’re not picturing pillars of athletic prowess. No, dedicated pot users are far more often stereotyped as out-of-shape basement dwellers, often clad in a stained t-shirt and occasionally encrusted in Cheeto dust. The only marathon they’d be training for would be a Simpsons one, right? Well . . . not so much, if you talk to the folks in charge of the Four-Twenty Games. A series of athletic events that kicked off in 2014, the Games proved a quick success, and they’ve been expanding ever since.

Can You Smoke Lettuce?
Not everyone who probably would benefit from cannabis products is prepared to to do something illegal. Others have neither the time for meditation nor an appetite for abstinence. The logical solution, then, was to come up with something legal, harmless, potent and available, that would turn on the tastes of the most jaded cannabis connoisseur... Thousands of medicine men and would-be moguls have tried... and most have failed.

Chill Parents? Study Shows the Middle-Aged More Likely to Light Up Than Teens
When you think of ‘weed’ plus ‘parents’, some standard scenarios generally come to mind. Your mom showing pictures of your brain on drugs, your dad admonishing you to stay in school and avoid any use of ‘The Marijuana’. Yes, for many years the middle-aged have been the subject of some pretty powerful party-poopin’ stereotypes, while young folks these days are generally assumed to dedicate a fairly substantial amount of time to chasing whatever feels good at the moment. Popular media certainly seems to bear this out ---- while the rebellious teen of your favourite sitcom might occasionally sneak a couple of pulls on a joint, you’re not likely to see their parents clearing space in the den for a shiny new hookah.

My First Time With Edibles
I am not a huge weed smoker. No wait, scrap that. I don’t smoke weed. I have before, of course, and I like it, don’t get me wrong! Actually I am right now so maybe I should just eliminate most of what I just said. But for the sake of argument I would never say ‘I smoke weed’. Largely because I think it would make me incredibly unproductive if I smoked it frequently, and being self employed with 100 projects on the go that need me to be motivated at all times, which I struggle with anyway due to an acute lack of concentration, means I can’t afford to be unproductive.

From 'Reefer Madness' to Marijuana Legalization
Imagine—if you can—a social gathering of young millennials enjoying a pseudo intellectual debate while passing around the vape. Consider the affluent suburbs, where pre-rolled joints from Willie's Reserve are handed out while guests are greeted by the hosts. Think about the factory workers, truck drivers, laborers, and clerks who smoke marijuana to ease the boredom of the day. Businessmen, brokers, attorneys, and accountants score an ounce or two of quality weed from the firm's friendly dealer, be it a stock boy or another partner. Marijuana, once feared is now as much a part of our culture as much as beer and hotdogs.

Understanding Stashology
John and Ken had a big problem. What had been a load of almost 7,000 sizable peyote buttons (averaging 6.5 grams a piece) when they’d scored it out in Arizona, was 100 pounds of slime by the time they got it back to New York City. The flavor was unmentionable. The stench was enough to waste goats at 200 yards—nauseating was far too nice a term. The two desperate dealers realized that while almost anyone can put up with the ritualistic vomiting that often accompanies a heavy duty trip on fresh peyote, only the hell for leather masochist would chew down on rotten buttons.

Marijuana Ads of the Future from the Past
The way things are going, buying marijuana will soon be as easy as buying alcohol or cigarettes. It will be interesting to see how marijuana will be advertised once it is federally legalized. There are innumerable approaches that can be taken in marketing pot. Will it be treated as if it's a health product, like aspirin? Or will it be toted as a recreational product and sold to the public like sounds systems or games? Maybe it will be packaged as exotica, like perfume. Or a status symbol, like an expensive automobile. The possibilities are endless.

'Marijuana Potency' and 'The Great Book of Hashish'
Everyone fashions themselves a weed aficionado these days. I'm like "Dude, enough. We can all go to Leafly." But I personally like to keep it old school and collect my cannabis culture books. This has the added benefit of increasing my book shelves' impressiveness. Seriously, at any given moment, there are so many people borrowing my weed books that I have had to start making people sign them out. I keep a spiral notebook on top of the case. Even tied a pencil to the spiral binding. Very geeky vibe. I have started collecting books again and recently found these two books in a used book shop in Portland. I am a marijuana bibliophile. Marijuana Potency and The Great Book of Hashish are my most recent weed book finds.
