
With the rising cost of food and drinks in restaurants and bars, before you set out, you might like to know what some of the most popular cocktails are to make it worth your money and perhaps enjoy a drink you have not tried before. They often use familiar spirits like vodka, rum, gin, tequila, or whiskey, paired with mixers such as citrus juice, soda, or syrups.

Bloody Mary is a tomato cocktail that has been around for a very long time. It is a popular drink for brunches. Prepared properly, it is an amazing blend of vodka, tomato and lemon juice, a dash of Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. A pinch of celery salt, paprika, salt, and pepper are sprinkled on and once everything is stirred well, the drink is poured into a tall glass and garnished with a celery stalk, lemon wedge, and a green olive.

Cosmopolitan got its day in the sun during the series “Sex and the City” when the main four actresses always enjoyed their cosmopolitans, and suddenly everyone had to have one. It is a delectable blend of vodka, Cointreau, and cranberry juice with the addition of fresh lime juice to tartness.

Daiquiri has always been a popular cocktail. Light rum, lime juice, and simple syrup are poured over ice in a cocktail shaker. Once shaken well, the drink is poured into a well-chilled glass and served.

Dirty Martini offers a bold and savory flavor where olive brine is mixed with vodka or gin. The olives in the glass give it a touch of richness with a bold flavor. The ingredients vodka or gin, dry vermouth, and olive juice are poured into a mixing glass. After they are poured into a chilled cocktail glass, skewered olives are added.

Espresso Martini is a cocktail enjoyed by true coffee lovers. It has a decadent taste with a nice caffeine spike. The ingredients vodka, fresh espresso, coffee liqueur, and simple syrup are poured into a cocktail shaker. The cocktail is well-shaken to that the top layer is frothy when poured into a glass. Coffee beans are placed on top for garnish.

Manhattan is considered to be a legendary cocktail. It blends together bourbon with sweet vermouth. A few drops of orange and Angostura bitters are added.The cocktail gets added spice from rye whiskey, while the sweet vermouth leaves a nice sweetness behind. The cocktail is mixed and poured into a glass topped with a maraschino cherry.

Margarita is a classic cocktail. It is a mix of tequila, triple sec orange liqueur, and freshly squeezed lime juice and gets natural sweetness from agave nectar. The cocktail is a balance of sweet and tart. Poured into a glass with a salted rim. The ingredients are poured into a shaker, shaken, and poured over ice in glasses. The cocktail can also be drunk straight up ice cold with no added ice.

Mimosa is a nice citrus cocktail with the bubbly taste of champagne and the sweetness of orange juice. This refreshing cocktail is a mix of champagne or sparkling wine, orange juice, and a splash of Triple Sec. It is a cocktail that goes very well with brunch.
Old Fashioned (see above) has been a popular cocktail for a long time and has not gotten old with time. The cocktail is prepared by adding sugar to a mixing glass, some dashes of Angostura bitters, and then bourbon. Ice is added, and the ingredients are mixed together until the sugar melts. Poured into an old-fashioned glass, an orange peel and a cocktail cherry are added for garnish.

White Russian has remained a popular cocktail choice. It is a delectable mix of vodka, coffee liqueur, and a splash of heavy cream. The ingredients are poured into a glass over rocks, and the cream is poured so that it floats on top.
