my therapist stated rather matter-of-factly.
"Craving connection through words,
your chest rises with hopeful breath and longing.
Your revelation hits you as you discover,
you were born for intimacy.
Yes, you were born to share all of your thoughts,
your ebbing willpower and your illuminating emotions with someone...
...with someone who would treasure every little whisper of vulnerability,
with someone who would love your unlovable, unfurnished parts.
You dream of nourishing someone's soul, in a zenzizenzizenzic way... to the eighth power of their pleasurable delight."
I shook my head at my therapist's, rather long, monologue. "You lost me with the word with all the 'z's..."

Social Media is not "Dear Diary"
This poem was inspired by the number of women who become angry at their husbands and tell all of their business on Facebook. They share how their husbands mistreat them and say they are putting them out, only to later share how wonderful their spouse is. The cycle repeats as they complain, say divorce is coming, then reconcile over and over. People have a right to do whatever they choose. Younger women have told me this. Still, I share this musing of an older boomer.
