Yuki-onna

A Sonnet

She beckons with a cold and lovely hand

Anticipating reluctance and fear

Few can her icy, pale allure withstand

Unhesitatingly, I do draw near

To her, spirit of winter, stark and bright;

Her eyes, a strange and fascinating blue

Her kimono, a gaunt and ghostly white

Her promises of bliss sound warm and true

What she does not suspect, but I know well

Is how magnetic frosty, creeping doom

Sounds to one such as I, who from grace fell

From whom no light can dispel bitter gloom

Yuki-onna, your kiss freezes the heart

I am a willing subject of your art

Sonnet
