YOUR WORDS
Live On

Your Words,
Thoughts, and feelings
Were such a big part of the man you were
A big, strong, loving, handsome Irish man
There was so much spirit in you
With your bright blue eyes and caramel colored hair
You lived to express your feelings
Passionately driven to share your heart, soul and mind
And your profoundly astute observations with the world
It was your calling and a blessing to all who knew you
Yet, your words caused you pain
Because they forced you to face
Your own doubt-filled demons
Demons that sometimes made you cruel
When the urge to drown those spirits
And self-medicate those insecurities
With liquid courage
You could be difficult then
But you always wrote with such drama
And truth as you saw it
You drew me in with your words from the start
I loved your mind before I loved your body
And your words are all I have left now
Those beautiful transcripts from your soul
And I know you are in heaven
Waiting for me
And strumming a replica of that beat up
Old guitar that never left your side
And I can keep on living
Because I have a tangible memory of your love and beauty
I can run my hand across the words you wrote
And feel you still here with me.
Forever
In
Your Words.

I am not meaning to not sound appreciative, but in regards to the insight above, if the poster had looked at my page, I have over 200 articles here on vocal. If he/she had gone to my page which is noted in my article, they would have seen that I have published 8 books, have won numerous writing awards, was published nationally the first time at 14 years. Saying i 'have poetnetial, and to keep practicing and don't give up." is kind of insulting.
