Your true face…..what kind of face is it?
I really want to know!
Are you right now smiling?
Or are you full of woe?
What stories does your true face tell?
What battles have you seen?
Is your true face a naïve one?
Or is it rather keen?
Is your true face something others
Would recognize if they saw?
Or would they not know the real you?
Would your face leave them in awe?
Why do you hide your true face?
Why don't you let others see?
The face that makes you really you
The face that lets you be.
Do you not like what you look like?
In your face do you see a flaw?
Do you want hide forever?
Do you fear how you look raw?
Your face says much about you
It bears the scars of life
The love, the joy, the wonders
The sorrow and the strife
I want to see your true face, I want to know you more
I want to understand you, I want to know your lore
I know you wear a mask, and you like to leave no trace
I wonder….the face under the mask. Is that your true face?
