Literacy is a significant issue globally, even with substantial progress in literacy rates.
While the global literacy rate has increased, still millions of adults and children still lack basic reading and writing skills. Significant inequalities persist across regions and genders.
This is an entry for the Enlightening Literature Category.
I really don't know if this is ok, and with the theme of this category. I googled it and it seemed to fit, however, I am new at this.

Love the push for literacy here! As a teacher in an urban school district it's certainly a major issue! I think it's a great fit for the category!
