Your Love, Flawed Love

On: Unconditional Love, Loneliness, and Questioning Connection

By Mingling with the Moon Published 7 months ago 1 min read
Flawed love

I have something to say; will you listen?

Without fear, criticism and judgment

Will you hold your bias and let me speak?

Even when I falter in my speech?

Even if the world isn’t on fire

And there’s no rush, no urgency

Will you hold my words like a fragile glass, or will they shatter with your glance?

Will you still love me when I weep

and have become like a shattered shield…

Will you hold my hand and make me calm?

Even as my voice shakes like a storm?

Looking beyond the frozen sea

Dragging my body on thin ice

Broken bones, torn skin

Reaching for a soul, to set it free

There is nothing more clear than this plea

Will you be able to hold that up?

Am I being delusional?

Is this possible?

Is this too much?

You’re kind,

You're mine,

And you love me

But your love is flawed

Your love is raw

Your love is real

Is this all you can give me?

And if my words aren’t kind, will you still mind?

Will you still listen with care, concern, and understanding?

Will you still be kind?

Will you still be mine?

Will you still love me?

Is this all too much or is this fine?

Am I being delusional, or is this love real…

And will it ever be mine?
