Your Channel
A Moon Poem - and my 100th piece on Vocal.

The path of light, which shimmering, trails
From the channel you carve through the inky veil
Of a wandering galaxy, chasing its nine tails,
Is of a color, uniquely, wholly, marvelously
your own,
dear one,
old moon.
*
Every imagined, envious fantasy pales
beside the nebulous blaze of your one true tale,
Through heaven's vistas and death-shadow's dales,
Tragic, singular, and unquestionably
Your own,
old one,
dear moon.
*
The tracks of light, which shifting, glow
in the black lonely fields, wherever you go
and in starry seeds you countless, ceaseless sow
Twist along a path, endless and entirely
your own,
dear one,
old moon.
*
On a rare night, when you blue, earnest, loom
You tread upon a grove, with borealis in bloom
Though your walk is oft dark as windowless room
Colored by a sadness, quietly, completely
your own,
yours alone,
old one,
dear moon.
*
Yet see the lonely man lost on a wine-dark sea,
take in the tired girl looking for her own heart's key,
they gaze upwards, past eventide, alongside me
towards a solace - quietly, eternally
your own,
dear old one,
oh, dear old moon.

AUTHOR'S NOTE;
Thanks so much for reading this, dear friend! I truly hope you enjoyed it. It began as a general sort of affirmation of the unique beauty, tragedy, and depth of every soul's story (so please do read it as addressed to YOU, too!) - but then morphed rather naturally into an address to our lovely lunar friend.
As it turns out, this is my 100th piece submitted on Vocal! I am very proud to have gotten to this point - but more so profoundly humbled and heartened by the incredible support of family, friends, and this seriously wonderful community. Thank you to all who have encouraged and supported me so far, and thank you to the whole Vocal team for making this creative, connection-building space possible. It means more than I could ever put into words.
All the best,
Gabriel

Congratulations on your milestone and waiting for more!
Well done, and congratulations!
I mean, you're like some sort of artist Everyman! Like the Leonardo of Vocal! He writes, he paints, he plays, he performs - it's a ridiculous amount of talent to be contained in one human. Congratulations on 100. I feel there will be many, many more and all of them beautifully constructed pieces filled with rich imagery and meandering ideas. To you, Gabriel. I toast you and celebrate you.
Congrats on the milestone, hereβs to many more!
