Memory Snippets
Your birthday falls on the night of the full moon
We sat in the woods
Surrounded by a group of big trees
Talking casually from dusk to night.
Just before one of those moments
The woods were filled with the night wind
Making various whistling sounds among the branches and leaves
And a few stubborn birds
Chirping persistently in different directions
We sat there
Talking about some subtle fragments deep in our memories
Then, all the sounds stopped
The woods swelled with deep water
The ground beneath our feet became a lakebed
We, ourselves, became two fish without names
Talking to each other in a wonderful "bubble code"
Even pouring out mysterious emotions not expressed by human words
The incomplete moonlight was filtering down from the high water
We raised our hands and swayed our bodies in unison
Like real fish, lightly rising from the bottom of the water to the surface
Straight or coiled tree trunks
guiding our way upward
We soon reached the top of the tree and leaped out of the water
We saw a big golden moon
hanging steadily in the distant sky
We could only open a silent mouth and
Exchanging our amazement at.
Out of the water
We can't use the language of "bubbles"
Only by diving back into the water
We can only talk about what we felt when we jumped out of the water
and what fragments of memory
remain under the bright moon of previous years.
