You Wouldn't Say No

I wish you would've said no

By Heather HeckermanPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

YOU WOULDN'T SAY NO!!

Drug and sex, sex and drugs,

nothing but a puppet for these wanna be thugs.

Say goodbye to the people who love and care,

You're trapped in this life consuming nightmare.

You chose your path, made your bed,

You find yourself wishing you were dead.

They beat you, use you, take every single thing,

Always demanding of you to have more to bring.

You lay down every night,

Your body bruised, your heart full of fright.

You pray to God, and you pray and you pray,

Please take mercy and don't wake me up another day.

A life so full of hurt, anger and shame,

Never realizing you have only yourself to blame.

In denial about the drugs you use,

In denial about the people and drugs that use you.

Gone to you are your childhood dreams,

Silence shattered by your terrified screams.

No where to go, No where to turn,

Only shadows remain from the bridges you burn.

Always asking yourself why,

Knowing you traded your soul for that very first high.

Into your body the drugs did enter,

Around them your life will always center.

Knowing in your heart that you should quit,

Unable to find the strength to say no to it.

You watch everyday your life pass you by,

Seeming so content with the reasons why.

Choices you made affecting everyone around,

But you can't walk away, the drugs keep your feet off the ground.

They take you where they want you to be,

They blind you so you cannot see.

Your children hurt and screaming for their mother,

No knowing if they'll ever see her or their new baby brother.

But you've forgotten about their kisses and hugs,

You forgot because you couldn't say no to the drugs,

You forgot because you couldn't say no to the thugs.

YOU FORGOT BECAUSE YOU COULDN'T SAY NO!!!!
