You Were Poison

you taught me how to love myself

how to become a better person

and mostly you taught me that

living is better than dying

you were poison

but i didn't realise 'til you left

you hurt me every day and caused me pain

but i was oblivious as you taught me

that you can't have love without a little pain

you taught me that love is just filled

with hatred and pain

that's when i realised

i don't want to be in love again

love and pain will be forever joined.

You cannot have one without the other, it’s not possible.
